Beth: Whoo hoo for the miles on the TM & outside. 15 in a weekend! Those miles are worth their weight in gold (medals, that is). You know, I think you could market the idea of a pity party, complete with pity-party cookies & other goodies, and start a home-based business. ('Cuz I know your cookies are that good.) Congrats on the 2 pound loss, too!
Bill: 4 kids. Wow. Well, it sounds like you were very, um, social...four times, at least.
Lisa:

for your bread recipe. I made it Saturday morning instead of Friday, for reasons I'll account for below, and everyone loved it. DOOD was skeptical that I'd actually make the bread, even when I told him that you promised it was easy and so I was sure I could muddle through the recipe. I took a little ribbing for following the "exactly 23 minutes" baking time--that is, until he tasted it. DOOD, who isn't much of a toast-for-breakfast kind of guy, has been eating it every morning. Just wait until I tell him about my plans for a cinnamon swirl loaf. He's going to divorce me & court you!
I'm also very impressed with your plan--not only 60 minutes but a mud run & steep hills. Yeah, it sounds like you need to be committed.

Oops, I mean that you need to make a commitment. Seriously, that's impressive. Come the drier part of spring, I hope to do some easy trail runs, and I'll look to you for inspiration.
Vic: How did your Saturday run go, you know, the Saturday run that doesn't count in your training plan?

I just love its name! Good luck with the weight training.
Dave: Wow, that's quite a drop in pounds, especially on your frame (from the pics I've seen). You need to eat more soup, that's what you need. After all, if you're going to be sick of it anyway....
Shan: You know, that's how I feel about Splenda when I tried it. It is very sweet, but in a different way than honey or sugar. I just don't like it.

Thanks for the tip on the lemon juice--sometimes I need to add things to tea to get me to drink it. Not a natural tea drinker, I guess. Yea for the ring resizing--and proof that your body is changing!
Lily: I've never had Ezekiel Bread, but have heard of it. What's it taste like? You definitely should try Lisa's recipe--my loaves came out perfectly!!! And how is your tummy feeling, better I hope?
Tracey: Sometimes I think I'm at my happiest when I'm baking!

DOOD leaves for a conference mid-week, so there will be cookie baking for his travels tomorrow. Chocolate chip, I think, because for some reason they're on my mind these days?
And
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACEY!!

You're getting better each year, I'm sure!
Stacie: Yeah for your vacation--it sounds wonderful, 2 pounds & all. And you sound really motivated with your training, eating, drinking, etc.
As for me: We had a surprise visitor this weekend, a close friend of ours from our grad school days. He was making a Pit(tsburgh) stop as part of his conference traveling over spring break. (This never happened when we lived in Fargo, as it's on its way to no where.) So we had a great time catching up, making future travel plans, and eating. He also loved Lisa's bread, which I made with King Arthur's Wheat Flour, and my banana wheat w/ wheat germ muffins (instead of another loaf).
We also ate out a couple of times, with my big challenge being last night when we took him to our local Thai restaurant. I eyed the menu before we went, because I love Thai food. Now, I really wanted the Deep-Fried Tofu & Peanut Sauce dish, but knew I should eat the soup & salad. I also knew I'd probably feel deprived if I went that route, so I compromised: I ordered a baked tofu in ginger sauce dish & went easy on the rice. I felt very satisfied in terms of taste & hunger.
And here's some more good news. Not only did we have a great time seeing our friend, I ended up losing a pound last week! His conference-going meant we were able to squeeze in workouts, eat well for the most part, & still hang out.
