Becky and Jeff- 2/8/10 BW Croquet Lawn/LSS/UK Lochside- TR- Update 8/8 dessert party

you both need to somehow meet up on your wedding day to get a photo with each other! hehe! (sorry to add extra stress if any! but it would be soooo good if you can pass each other and get some piccys!)

Do your planners know that you know each other?

Both are nice but I agree and definately like the second one better.

Love the wax and seal idea.

Linda

Thanks Linda!

Wow, I just love everything! The pinwheels, the necklaces, and the wax seal. Too cool!!

And btw, I think I prefer necklace #2. #1 the green really pops in the picture, but it may stand out toooo much. And I like #2 is beautiful, and classy, and elegant but still green and fun!

Thanks!
I agree about the green popping in the pic. I like that necklace #2 matches my e-ring with its green and gold.

yayyyy your doing the green wax!! :goodvibes

i love the second necklace... it would SOOO go with you dress. The first one is nice too - ....hows about a necklace change throughout the wedding day? That'd be cool!

lol Thank you so much for the wax idea! :thumbsup2
I may wear the first necklace for the rehearsal

I LOVE the necklace. IT is soooo beautiful!!!!!!!

Thank you! I can't wait to wear it with the dress!

yay green!! Everything looks awesome... but I have to ask you... are you stressing a bit? I am a little and just want to make sure its all normal stressing lol!

Love the necklace, it looks awesome, I thought that was what I wzas seeing on FB when I saw your pic:goodvibes

I am indeed stressing. I'm a little better now that I have ordered the supplies for the invitations but I still need to put them together and figure out what goes in them. No one has a hotel room yet. Oh, I need to log in and see if I can search fro AP rates for my parents cause my mom is too busy with school. ::sigh::

We do need to find a way to see each other. My planner doesn't know, but I haven't met her yet either. I wasn't sure if it was ok to say I know Sam lol

haha I told Marion that "my friend Becky is getting married here on 2/8 too!" I left out that part about me planning to stalk you that morning... I thought she may frown upon that...:lmao:

We need to add "sneaky bride metting" to our wedding to-do lists!

Well if you already brought it up then I'm good to go lol
When we met with Ken he was saying he was going to try to get ADH as our rain location and I almost said "Well Sam's not using it until after 5:30" haha
We are meeting with Carol at Franck's on Tuesday at 3:30 so I will see if I can casually mention I know you :rotfl:

Yes!! You have to! You never know... the planners might do something special for you if you know each other and if you say you would like to meet up for a quick photo opp sometime in the day then they will help ya! hehe!!

Invites

So my plan was to get the invites done this weekend. It didn't really pan out. I am still pondering exactly what to put in them. I think the main thing we are waiting on is figuring out what to put as an RSVP date. We are meeting with Carol tomorrow so I thought I would ask her advice.

Here is a pic of most of my supplies.

The box from Cards and pockets came on Thursday at the same time as Jeff's replacement phone (he dropped his phone in the sink:headache: but I made sure we had insurance, that is like the fourth phone he has submerged in water:rolleyes:) Anywho he waited for me to get home to open the box. He ripped it open like two seconds after I walked through the door. His response after sifting through the box: Where's the green? lol

Here is a pic of the only part I have finished haha. I bought stamps for the response cards and addressed them today

I sent my mom the draft of the invites and she pointed out i put the wrong date! Thanks for noticing that girls! :rotfl: I put the twelfth instead of the eighth. :upsidedow I even spell checked it haha I totally was thinking more about the 12 o'clock ceremony time than the date when I typed it up.

That's it for now!

:rotfl: haha way to go Becky. Now I don't feel so bad - on my original draft I spelled my dad's name wrong!!

Thank goodness for moms :worship:

Good luck. It took me like 3 weeks after saying "I need to get these done this weekend" to start mine. It is daunting - isn't it?

haha thanks Joanna, I feel better about the invites now!

Mini Planning Session

So we met with Carol today. She is super nice! It was really good to go over the whole BEO again and be able to be more focused on our choices rather than have to pick what we wanted out of a sea of choices. I feel a whole lot more comfortable about the day and like I really know what is going to happen throughout the day. We also talked to Rose again about floral which was good because I hadn't gotten a chance to e-mail her about my bouquet. She said she shared my pinwheel idea with people and they all thought it was really cool!

We made a few changes to things:

We confirmed that we are not doing the MK shoot. Rose had us down for it with floral but Carol didn't have us down on her BEO.

We decided to start the dessert party at 8 instead of 8:30 so in case it rains we would have more time indoors with our food before having to walk to UK Lochside.

We also decided to hold the guests after the ceremony for pictures and then send one bus with everyone to LSS. Carol said she had a wedding this weekend where they did that and it worked out really well. I had already decided I wanted a picture of everyone at the ceremony so this is a great way to do that.

We confirmed the cake design which made me feel a lot better about that as well. I think it is going to be super cool and the girl manning the desk at Franck's said she overheard our description and she said it sounded fantastic. :yay:

Carol also confirmed that our RSVP date should be at the end of December so now I can design my response cards and finish up the invites.

I'm sure I am leaving something out. We walked through the whole day, it was great! I'm sooo excited! It feels very real! :bride:

Hi-ya!
I just wanted to give you a heads up with the wax seal on the invites...Do an invite up and take it to the post office...make sure it meets all their requirements. Sometimes they get antsy about lumpy bumpy stuff and there is a certain size that the envelop has to get through...
I LOVE the seal idea! I would just hate for your to get them ALL done and sealed and then get them all returned or not be able to send them out! That's a lot of hard work!

I'm so glad that you got to walk through your day. I think that is one of my hesitations. b/c we live so far away we won't get that opportunity. I'm just going to leave it in Disney's hands-it will all go well I am sure.

OH and I love the necklace you chose for the wedding! I love the green!

Great updates. I am so sorry I did not start our DP earlier. The time seemed to go too fast.

As far as what Petals & Pixie Dust said about bringing your completed invitation to the post office I definately agree. When we were doing our invites (and we used Cards and Pockets also) I used a piece of velcro to keep the invite closed and it definately made the envelope thicker and bumpy. Sheldon works for the post office and brought it to work before we mailed it out and it was definately more expensive. The envelopes go through a machine so the extra bulk makes it harder to go through. When you put the wax down just put a very thin drop.

Looking forward to reading more.

Linda

Thank you both!
I was going to take one to the post office to figure out the postage rate but I didn't think about the odd shape thing with the seal. I'll be sure to make up one and take it before I do all the rest. I still need to get a full size glue gun to use with the wax. It is too big to fit in my tiny glue gun.

oooh oooh !!!! YAAAAY!:yay:

i hope you can get some more piccys!!! - and hope you took your necklaces along with youuuuu!!

:goodvibes

Oh no! Isn't it annoying when you make mistakes. How frustrating!

I'm glad you are getting everything settled. Hope your dress fitting went well!

Dress Fitting

So I am going to post some pics because I don't believe Jeff is ever really going to come on here and post lol Though I know he has read a lot of it.

So last Friday my newly engaged MOH arrived to accompany me (or, since my car lacks air conditioning and FL is having a freakish heat wave, drive me in her nice rental car which was ironically a newer version of my car) to my second dress fitting. The fitting was at five and the place was basically deserted. We had the whole fitting room area to ourselves.

The shop owner showed Krystin how to lace up the dress and then she looked at how the hem fell and how it would look once the bottom row of lace was put back on. She decided to hem it a little bit more. Then she and Krystin got to searching for the little hooks for the buttons to bustle the dress. They ended up having to get the seamstress to show them where they were lol. It looked really cool bustled, but I didn't get a pic. The lace overlay comes up at five points so it looks like the whole dress is a big folded handkerchief kindof. Very pretty, then the underskirt just gets tacked up on one button in the middle.

Ok here are some pics that I did get to take:

Over the head shot of Krystin reaching up my dress to try to do the bustle again for a pic. I realized the shop was closing in 5 minutes and we shouldn't bother so we stopped.

In other news I also booked my room at the Boardwalk for the night before the wedding. They opened up bookings for the cast holiday rates on Thursday so I jumped on that. Since the deal was so good I got a one bedroom villa so that we have lots of room to get ready in. So that makes one hotel room booked out of the whole wedding :rotfl:
Our rooms coordinator sent me an e-mail introducing himself the other day and sent a summary of our room nights and it was 0 lol so at least now we have 1.
My mom called last weekend to inquire about rates and is going to wait to see what the passholder rates are once they are out. Plus I still need to get those pesky invites out so my guests can start making reservations. Although I guess they got that info on their Disney mailed STDs.

Alright. off to work on invites....

aww Becky... i love it :lovestruc you look so happy in your dress! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

I didnt realise that the train was that long, it looks lovely! All lovely and sparkly! You will be such a beautiful bride!

Okay, you go off and do your invites.... let us know how they turn out! heheh!!

I love all the detailing on the dress, so beautiful!

So, out of curiosity what percentage do cast members typically get off room rates? If you can't say either, no big deal just wondering if it is in the range of AP or not :goodvibes
