Bec & Chris - Wishes Wedding 03/01/11 WP/WHR/SCP - Some extra pics and **COMPLETE**

I believe we emailed about the gluten free food. The Napa room did a great job. I ad randy take pictures but I don't have them back yet. She had her own salad, main course looked a ot like what the rest of us had-it was huge, brownie with ice cream and chocolate sauce for dessert. I never did see the gluten free cupcake but she was very happy with her dessert.

The dessert party was another story. I was so disappointed. She had one item unwrapped and 2 that were wrapped with the store packaging. I could have went out and bought her some things a lot cheaper. She was also able to have the fresh fruit we had. Luckily she was still full from lunch so she didn't really mind.

I can share pictures when I get them. Glad your planning is coming along.

Thanks so much for letting me know! This is one thing that keeps coming back to mind when we start talking about food. I'll have to keep that in mind when planning the DP desserts.

I hope everything works out with the dresses...that seems so weird that you cannot order any from the US? What about Canada? Lots of stores here sell that designer.

They all look gorgeous, but I love the Jenna on you!

Hmm, I should look into Canada, I didn't think about that... I think it's just so common for US online stores to come up, but it's rare to see stores from other countries... :confused3

Or can you order from the UK? Not sure if they are just as expensive as Oz.

I think that while the UK is cheaper then Australia, it's still a bit more expensive then the states, and then when you add shipping and the like to the cost, it goes up and ends up being comparable to the AU cost. But I'll look anyway, I could be wrong!

So DF has thrown me yet another curve ball :lmao:

I was explaining to him the current dilemna of booking flights between Orlando and Cancun. At the moment, Delta is the only airline that does direct flights between the two, and it only does them on Saturdays. We were hoping for 10 days in Cancun, and direct flights both there and back (as flights with stop overs turn a 2 hour flight into a 7 hour flight, which just doesn't make sense to me!) JetBlue do have direct flights, but they haven't released their flights yet...

DF made the suggestion that I look into one way flights from Cancun to LA, an see if they go direct, as we have to go in that direction anyway (Even though we've already got flights booked from Orlando back to LA, it might end up being better for us to do this)

I tell DF that I'm able to book direct flights from Cancun to LA on a Monday, which would give us 9 days in Cancun, and is a nice compromise in my opinion. It would also mean we'd have two nights in LA before our flight home, so DF starts thinking of what we could do in LA. I suggest 6 Flags, coz I've always wanted to go there, however DF believes that he will be theme parked out at that stage :scared1: I know, right!?!

So I'm brain storming, and checking out TripAdvisor for some ideas, when DF casually asks me "How close is Vegas to LA?" I answer that it's a decent trip, maybe an hours flight away. So DF says oh, ok, and leaves it at that for a while. He then comes back quite excited "Are there direct flights from Cancun to Vegas?!?"

I look into it, and while there aren't, there's only a 1 1/2 hour stopover in Pheonix...

So now we're thinking about doing a couple of days in Vegas on our way home... :rotfl:

So... More research for me... :surfweb: However I must admit I've already suggested an Elvis Vow Renewal!! :lmao:

Can you drive between LA and Las Vegas its about a 4 and a half hour drive?

What got me about the gluten free dessert plate is that we did the most expensive dessert option and paid extra for the flambe addition. I really think there must have been a mix up and they had to throw the dessert plate together at the last minute. Hope you have better luck.

Like how your honeymoon plans are coming along.

Wouldn't really want to drive, as we'd lose all our time doing that, plus whether or not we're confident to be driving over there is a whole other thing

Ooh Vegas and Orlando in 1 trip. You lucky girl!:goodvibes

I know, I'm starting to get excited about it.

Yeah that sucks, I'd be a bit annoyed if I specifically asked for something, even if it is only for one or two guests and they didn't deliver.

Our Annual Passes came today!!! :cool1:

I'm so excited! I almost had to shake DF to get him to be excited with me :lmao: We're annual pass holders damn it!!! :lmao:

Annual passes are the greatest!! I am thinking we need to go back in April to get a lot of use out of them :)

How exciting to get your annual passes!! I think I jumped up and down for 10 minutes when ours came in the mail!!!

Yay annual passes!! I was so excited when we got ours and I am going to do my best to get to WDW as many times as I can - we cannot waste AP's haha

So I've decided that Maggie Sottero's Allyssa is my dress! :goodvibes

I woke DF up at 5am this morning and demanded he drive me to Newcastle (3-4 hour trip) :lmao:

He dropped me off at the bridal store and, I dunno, went and looked at cars, or some such manly stuff.

So I had some "alone" time with both dresses, and must say that Ambrosia didn't quite have the "wow" factor that it did last weekend. It's still a really beautiful dress though.

I then tried on Allyssa, and put on a little crinnie to see what the dress looked like with a slightly fuller skirt and wow, it was decided :yay:

Now I've just got to find where I buy it from.

I asked the store that I tried it on at if they were negotiable on price. Short answer no...

If I pay in full when I order it I can have a veil for free up to the value of $200, however alterations are extra, to rent the crinnie is extra, getting the halter neck is extra (and a stupid amount extra too! :scared1:)

So I figure I'll order it online, I'm hoping the only alterations I'll need are a bustle, and getting a bra sown in, and I think there's a local place that will rent me a crinnie, or I'll just get one from ebay :thumbsup2

Congrats on picking your dress! :goodvibes And that was really sweet of your DF to make the drive with you. Sometimes it's easier to decide when it's just you there. The first time I went dress shopping and when I found my dress I was by myself, and I really did enjoy it.

I think the Alyssa dress is gorgeous and was my favorite out of the two, but I was biased because it's more similar to my dress. ;)

The halter neck is extra? Isn't the dress a halter style? That stinks. Yes, with dresses there are lots of extras. And the bustle is a big one too, especially if you want a french with a lot of points. That's how they get you, but at least with the corset back and Maggie lets you order in petite length (not sure how tall you are), it does cut down on other alterations a little.

Yeah it's weird. The halter is technically extra, but if I look online it's an extra $30, however the store charges an extra $100 :confused3

For just two straps of material - yes they are pretty sparkly straps, but that's all they are - $100 is a stupid amount!

congrats on picking a dress! I hope it works out with ordering it online and alterations. I know how expensive that can be!

Ok, I'm being a bit rediculous here, but I have to rant to someone!!

I just received DFs brother's invite to his wedding in October, (keeping in mind this is the couple that are doing the photobooth idea that I was really looking forward to) and the pocketfold is the same one I'm using!! :headache:

I can't believe it! I know there's nothing I can do, and we're using different colours and designs and stuff, but I just want to stamp my foot and say enough!! We were engaged first, and I probably even had my invitation picked before they were engaged.

I'm being quite pleasant about it on the outside, but I tell you what, on the inside I'm throwing a very childish tantrum!! :rotfl2: (I know he's technically laughing, but for the time being I'm pretending that he's tantruming!)

I'm actually quite worried to find out what similar taste I have with my FSIL, especially because I know she's also wearing a Maggie Sottero dress. Heads will roll if we've bought the same dress! I'm of two minds about this, one part of me is saying "Find out which dress she's bought before you order yours," and the other half is saying "No damn it! I've picked MY dress and I'm not changing for anyone!!"

It sucks... They have their reasons for getting married before us, but I can still be bitter about it if I want to...

I'll post photos of their invite later and point out all the similarities, then you can tell me how rubbish their invite looks compared to ours!! :lmao:

Aw Bec I think you are totally within your rights to find out what dress she is wearing. It would be awful if by some chance it was the same and you had already bought yours.

I would feel the same as you

I am sorry that you have to deal with that! I would totally be throwing an internal temper tantrum! I think that you should find out what dress she is wearing, to give you some peace of mind if nothing else. And as long as you know that your invites are better (and you had the idea first) others should notice. And your wedding will be special anyway because it is about you! I am so glad that nobody in my family is getting married anywhere near to when we are. Things can get so difficult and I hope that they work out soon for you!

i think you have every right to be annoyed. You def want to feel special when its your wedding and having a family members wedding right before yours is rather annoying....especially if her stuff is similar. If i were you i'd ask her just casually "so I was wondering what dress you ended up with?" see if she give you the name. just so your not wondering....do we have the same dress? I'm sorry your dealing with this. try not to let it upset you...your wedding will be very different from hers. and i doubt people will compare it. Hang in there hun.
