Beagle or Dachshund?

I'm considering getting another puppy, and I'm trying to decide whether to get another beagle --we have one, about 8-11yrs old (she was adopted), or get a dachshund. Which would you choose, and why?

Any input would be very much appreciated!

I was told that beagles bark too much and that they have more odor. Since you already have 1, is this true?

I had a dachshund for 14 years, they are the most unbelievably wonderful animals! You know what my vote is for!

She can get kind of stinky(I kind of assumed maybe I ought to bathe her more often than I do) but she doesn't bay like most beagles. She barks at airplanes when they fly over , barks at the neighbor's sprinklers when they come on. She doesn't bark inside the house at all.

I'd pick a Beagle hands down. My mom nearly got a Beagle a few weeks ago, but my dad's dog would have none of that

Just take a look at them-they are simply georgeous. Beagles go well with other beagles. Beagles are easy to train-they love food. They can be hard to housetrain though, but a crate would take care of that. They are friendly.

Also, there voices are georgeous too.

Dachsunds-they are weiner dogs! I don't understand the attraction to them.

I agree about beagles.....I fall in love with everyone that I see!
I also really like the long-hair Dachsunds. Don't care for the short hair ones.

Having had a Doxie in the past, I'd go for the Beagle! My Doxie NEVER got the hang of housebreaking. She was a couple years old and still did it in the house. I met a lady whose house was run by Doxies...LOL! She must have had 12 of them easily. She said...it's just the breed.

beagles....I've got 2...just got the second one in Jan...love the beagles...barking and all they are loveable dogs....and love being around the family...

We just got a 15 wk old miniature dachshund thats black and tan. She is just a doll and is asleep in my lap right now.

OMG - My DD has one and that dog never settles down, is constantly yappy and needs too much grooming. I have a miniature dappled dachshund. he's 1 1/2 yrs old and such a loving dog.

I vote for dachshunds but I like beagles, too.

During my teenage years, we had a dachshund/beagle mix. She had the black and tan coloring but a beagle build with a little shorter legs but not as short as a dachshunds. Was beautiful!
