So we are trying to decide on a beach vacation vs. WDW. I am thinking we may compromise on both. My Uncle bought a small house in Spring Hill FL this year and it mostly sits empty. It is about 15 miles from the gulf side but I have no idea what kind of beach communities are in that region. We've never been to the beach in Florida, and we're thinking of 3-4 days of WDW and then 2-3 days of Uncle's house/beach. What are our options?

Thanks!!

Oh and it'll be close to the last week in March of 2012. Is that too cold for beach-going and far enough away from Spring Break (when is that anyway??).

Spring break lasts about six weeks since all schools break at different times. The end of March should be plenty warm for sunning and swimming. There is a beach in Hudson, not too far south of Spring Hill. Also, I believe, Hernando Beach is close. Just Google Florida Gulf coast beaches. Florida is great for setting aside park and recreation areas. We have a home in Port Richey where we stay in the winter months. I love Honeymoon Island and there are several beaches in Pasco county just south of Spring Hill. :cool1:

We love Pine Island. That is close by. You could also drive down to Clearwater beach.

Spring Hill is not, itself, on the beach, but is close enough to drive to them.
