Beaches 'n' Cream Review

We eat here every year, a family favorite. We went here last week for dinner around 5:00. We sat down to eat (on the DDP) and had planned to share our food (as we have ALWAYS done in the past on the DDP or when paying OOP). Anyway, the waitress said we couldn't share and that each person must order a meal - appetizer, dessert, everything. Of course, we didn't realize this since we had shared in the past. So she brought the manager out to explain that anyone who ate must use a TS credit (even if we shared). So, we thought about leaving just because we didn't waste that much food but my DS 10 really wanted a Fudge Mud Slide (yum!). So I asked if I could just not eat and they agreed not to deduct a credit for me "if I did not eat at all." We understand why you can't share at buffets, we just didn't want to waste food. Oh well.

So we ordered and laughed the whole meal. We had a great time. DH ordered chili for an appetizer, ate half of it, shared a little with my DD but couldn't share with me. DS10 ordered a the onion rings for his appy. They were placed in the middle of the table, so he and my DH ate a few of those, but couldn't share with me. Anyway, DH, DS10, DS8, and DD3 ordered their entrees, none of them finished but they couldn't share with me. (Meanwhile, I'm just sipping my water.) Then dessert time . . . DS 10 ordered his Fudge Mud Slide at the whipped cream and Oreo's off the top and was done. All the ice cream, fudge topping, and brownie were still in there, but he couldn't share with me! So we paid . . . and I did get a spoonful of the DS's dessert and a to-go box for the onion rings. Would we go back again . . . I don't know, but it was a great memory!

We didn't even ask at other places because we were either at buffets or at restaurants where we all wanted something different so we wouldn't have shared.

That stinks about not being able to share there. That's probably the only place where we'd want to. I think we'll probably end up paying OOP there anyway, because the littles really want to try the Kitchen Sink.

Was it just because you were on the DDP? My DH and I shared there (not DDP, DDE) earlier this month. weird

We just got back and had the same experience. My husband got sick on this trip and couldn't hardly eat anything. We have ate at Beaches & Cream every trip x10yrs and always shared because of the amt of food.
Anyway we were not eating there this trip since we were on the dining plan. Since he wasn't eating with us at all of the meals we had 3 extra TS credits left over, so decided to go to Beaches to share those 3 credits for 5 people including spouse who didn't even want to eat. They told us they would deduct 5 credits from us even if we only ordered 2 hamburgers! I really wanted to leave, but the kids wanted to eat there so my husband had to leave & we ordered 4 hamburgers. They did not offer an appetizer or give us a re-fill on drinks even when asked! She just said sure, but never re-turned. We used 4 TS and shared 4 TS at Kona that night without any problems! Matter of fact that was the 2nd time we shared at Kona. We didn't plan on sharing, it just worked out that way. The hamburgers were not that good and my daughters brownie was hard and cold. We will not be returning there for along time!

Shees...what a disappointment! I always loved B&C, but didn't get there last week...always have shared...what's the deal here??? New manager or something? I wonder if that is really permitted. We are DVC members so our dining plan was not free...I don't want someone telling me what I can and can't do with my money. I agree that I would have walked out, but when you have littles with you, what can you do? The wait staff here was always so friendly...guess all good things come to an end.

Boy that would make me mad. You had a great attitude, but I would have been ticked! I would have just paid out of pocket for a few meals and shared. Don't tell me they wouldn't let you PAY for any thing you wanted. VERY unDISNEY like. Sorry you had this experience and very glad you handled it so well. Hats off to you!

We ate there, we had to wait over a hour for a seat. It was good but we would not make a special trip there. We spent 30.00 in the arcade room while waiting We used TS meals for everyone this was the only place that we had tons of left overs. We took them back and they ate them late at night watching television..
