As far as ice cream goes, Beaches and Cream is at best ....adequate. If you want to reach absolute Heaven in that category, you have to travel about 900 miles north to Herrell's in Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA.
Long before places like Cold Stone Creamery, there was Steve Herrell.
Way back in 1973, he literally invented the entire superpremium ice cream category, building his own ice cream freezer (since the generic ones available at the time weren't capable of handling high butterfat cream or producing smooth enough product).
He also was
the inventor of the custom "smoosh-in." Decades ago, his customers were the to first select their favorite ice cream flavor, then choose from a variety of ingredients such as M&Ms, fruits, nuts, and many others, which are mixed into the ice cream by hand on a slab of cooled marble (not merely sprinkled on top). Enthralled ice cream lovers watched in anticipation while a skilled staff mixed up a customers own personal creation from almost infinite possibilities.
Ah, if only Disney contracted Steve to set up a Herrell's at WDW.....
