Beach Vacations?

Last summer we stayed at Ocean Isle Beach in Ocean Isle North Carolina. It's 20-30 minutes north of Myrlte Beach. We stayed at Ocean Isle Inn which is right on the beach, clean rooms with mini fridge, private pool outside and indoor and a hot tub. They have a fee continental breakfast too. We stayed there for about $120 a night right after memorial day. All rooms have a balcony too!

I wanted to second OIB!!! Very flat, and they have wheel chair accessible ramps to the beach. Also very affordable rentals great restaurants. Love it here.

NC Beaches:

Some posters already mentioned to check out Duck and Corolla in the OBX. They are not as busy as Nags Head.

Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach are near Wilmington, NC so there is shopping, good restaurants, etc. nearby.

No one has mentioned Emerald Isle, NC or Atlantic Beach, NC also on the coast of NC. Both are nice beaches.

We go with friends to Duck every year. We love it there - it is gorgeous. This year we splurged and got oceanfront. We always go the week before Labor Day, because that is when prices go down.

We also go to Topsail Island. This beach is much quieter and much more reasonably priced. You can get an oceanfront house for about 1/3 of the price you pay in the Outer Banks.

I am really considering Topsail Island now! I have been checking and I think that looks GREAT! The prices are good, we can relax AND there is stuff to do!

If you have ever stayed there, where have you stayed- Recommendations on places to eat and stuff to do?

I will there was a DIS board for EVERY area, lol.

My MIL lives on Topsail and we are lucky enough to visit each summer. One of our favorite places to eat is Max's pizza. I have to say the we don't eat out to much when we're there because we're always at someone's house for a thumbsup2. Love that southern hospotality. The sea food place by Max's is supposed to be good too.

Can anyone recommend a hotel? We can't go for a whole week and that seems to be what the rental houses require.

Elevator, direct oceanfront access, pool and hot tub. Five bedrooms, 4.5 baths. Rodanthe on Hatteras Island. Rented by Surf or Sound Realty. Rodanthe is the ONLY place in the Outer banks that has direct oceanfront beach access. There is no where like Hatteras Island. Btw, I'm staying in this house next week so I can give you personal information. I know the beach there as we've stayed in this area several times but this house is new to me.
