Beach Snacks...

A must are those big umbrella things, that fold like an umbrella, but are really more like a small tent, they are very portable, and fit 2 chairs under them, if you want a portable shade area, which is a must for me. And of course a portable cooler full of your beverage of choice, or beveragesssss.

Heading to the beach next week...what kind of snacks do you pack? (looking for some new ideas!)

DW packs packs containers of precut cantaloupe and watermelon, chips, nuts, and cold cut sandwiches, as well as Capri Sun and water.

I bring beer. Lots and lots of ice cold beer.

We like to bring cold fried chicken and cold sliced grilled London Broil.

I also have been known to bring a few individual bottles of those little Sutter Home Wine Bottles. Perfect with shrimp cocktail as the sun is setting!

I know that the beach I'm heading to on Saturday does not allow alcoholic beverages on the beach...we watched a guy get busted last year. (not busted as in arrested, but busted as in, they confiscated his stash). They patrol the beach there.

Not sure about Rehoboth, but I'm thinking they don't allow it either. My friends and I head to OC MD every fall for a weekend, and we take wine on the beach, but that isn't technically allowed either. It's off-season, though, so we've always gotten away with it.

You guys take good snacks on the beach! I'm glad I posted this, because I would have ended up with a can of Pringles and some grapes! :rotfl2:

As a veteran of many spring breaks on beaches that didn't technically allow alcohol, I can tell you that the key word to successful drinking in that situation is "discreet". If you pour your drink in a cup and then toss the evidence in a trash can, they will not pay you any mind. Officers are typically looking for belligerent drunks and people who aren't trying to conceal their beer cans. Just keep it out of sight and you'll be ok. :)
