Beach for a day

During our trip to Disneyland we will be spending a day at the beach. My kids have never been to one and they want to spend the day swimming, looking for shells, and playing in the sand. Which beach is the best for this? Thanks!

You have Huntington Beach, Newport Beach. Laguna Beach. You are really not going find big shells. You may find little tiny things.

Laguna has tide pools that can be fun to find little creatures and shells in.

I was going to ask the same question. Which is the best swimming beach? We are planning to go to Corona del mar for tide pools and shelling, but kids want to swim a little too.
