Beach Club v. Yacht Club

Basically there is only 1 major difference between the two. We have stayed at both of them many times. (We 1st only stayed at the YC because of the "balcony" issue. Balconies are available in 99% of all YC rooms whereas BC rooms a large portion only has a step out variety.) Then we moved to BC once when it was unavailble, fell in love and never went back. The major difference is not the balcony issue, not the location BC closer to epcot, not BC being blue and YC grey. ;) ITssssssss: its the attitute, "feel" of the resorts. They are nite and day different. YC very refined, quiet, elegant, sophistcated feel. BC is fun, relaxed, vacation--y, more family orientated.

Otherwise both resorts are great. Great pool (SAB) :wizard: Great location, good parking. Good Cm's.

Thanks "mkymouse4ever"!!! We have been trying to decide which of the 2 to choose and you just made up our minds for us. We were leaning toward BC because it's a bit closer to Epcot, but kept wondering if the YC side would be better for us. I really think I spend way too much time obsessing over the resorts when I'm planning at trip ...

I agree with this although I've only stayed at YC. YC seemed quieter and more elegant; the colors are blues and brass with dark wood floors. BC uses pastels like pink and blue. BC seemed to have more kids. Both can use the great pool - SAB.

We stayed at the BC in May. Room needed a little touch ups but mostly nice. A lot of mold on the balcony but this is Florida. Had a side view of Illuminations. We thought the hallways were confusing but once we found our way we had fun seeing which ones in our family made it to the Marketplace first. That said we have decided to stay in YC next time. Mostly becuase the lobby is so busy all the time in the BC. They check in BC and BCV's and the Cape May Cafe is always crowded with lots of people waiting. When we went over to check out the YC lobby it was night and day - way quieter etc. It was more elegant but I saw a lot of kids too! Thats what makes these boards both helpful and not so helpful. Everybody has different tastes. Just go with the one that looks right for your family. All the resorts are Wonderful in their own way!!

I prefer the Beach club on the basis of theme--I just love Nantucket and the beach club carries it through beautifully. Also, I like the Little Mermaid statue in the courtyard near the villas and the sun room. I guess the Yacht club is a little more adult because it is more nautical, but I think both resorts are elegant in their own way. I've stayed at both and preferred the CMs at the Beach club, but I hear that the CMs transfer around so it could have been an off time for the YC and we just hit it right at the BC. Either one is great. My son LOVES the pirate slide at Stormalong Bay, and it's great to watch Illuminations from the beach area or else from your balcony at BC (we could see them over another building from our balcony--our view at YC was of the quiet pool so completely looked in the other direction).

I would say to choose on the basis of the pictures of both resorts and see which one has a decor you prefer. Other than that, the design, CMs, amenities and locations are virtually identical. :wizard:

We just stayed at BC this past June and had an amazing time -- I'd agree with the posts that it "seemed" more relaxed and my three kids just loved it. We had an amzing view from our room (4563) of the lake with the BWI straight on, the BC "quiet" pool to the left and the vollyball court to the right. Our balcony was a step balcony only, but we had enough room to lean.

We also appreciated have the Marketplace on "our side" of the resort. What a hike it is from YC just to refill drinks!

You will absolutley love the location of Beach Club - enjoy!
