We'll be going to the Beach Club in May of '08. Family of 4. Can someone recommend a good standard room to stay in. One with a decent view, good location? Is staying on the ground floor a good idea? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks - TMS
:woohoo:

Be sure to request a room with queen-sized beds. We learned the hard way that they have rooms there that actually have full-sized beds (like the value and moderate resorts) in some of their rooms - rather than the queen-sized that are in all the deluxe resorts. My wife and I slept the first night in the bed together. We have only had queen-sized, and and now a king-sized bed, for our bed at home. We thought the bed seemed unusually small the last time we stayed at the Beach Club and I looked that the label on the bedding - it was full-sized. I asked a cast member about this and they said that some of the rooms (very few) at the Beach Club have full-sized beds instead of queen-sized. :confused3

I usually request first floor, and then either close lobby or close Epcot, depending on whether I'll be going to Epcot more, or need the Disney transport more. On the first floor, you always get a small patio. I would also second the idea of requesting two queen beds, since there are 4 of you. I've been in one of the rooms with two full beds, but it was just my Mom and me and we each wanted our own bed, so it wasn't a big deal. The room was slightly smaller (from the bathroom wall to the sliding door) so you really didn't notice at first that the beds were a different size because all the other furniture fit just right.

Even with a first floor room, I could see the fireworks from Illuminations (you can't see the stuff on the water unless you're in the park anyway) when I had an Epcot facing room.

Does anyone have exterior pictures of the first floor standard rooms on the the side of the resort closest to EPCOT? I'd like to know what they look like, and if anyone has been in the area your impressions would would be usefull!

Well thank you for clarifying. My family stayed at the BC at the end of Aug 2007 and I was extremely disappointed with the size of the beds because I was sure that the beds were suppose to be Queen sized, but they were very small. Next time I will make sure that I add 'Queen Sized' beds to my reservation request.

Thanks for that info on the full size beds. I will DEFINITELY request queen size beds. That's great to know.
