hello.
How is the food court at the Beach Club resort compared to other ones ??

thanks.

There is no food court at Beach Club. They have a small marketplace with a drink station and a few food items but it's a long way from being a food court.

Yep, no food court at the Beach Club. In fact there is no food court at the Epcot resorts at all, the closest thing there is the Picabu cafeteria at the Dolphin (and they don't take DDP).

thanks for all the quick replies !!,,
i am used to the concept of having a food court and grabbing whatever I need before heading out...
for those that have stayed there .. where do you guys go get food before catching your disney buses out to the parks ?

We love BC and don't find the lack of a food court or more extensive CS restaurant to be a problem at all.

But we eat very light breakfasts in our room (juice, milk, fruit, donuts, cereal, etc.) before we head out to the parks. We can buy all of those items at the BC Marketplace and keep them in our room fridge. BC also has hot breakfast sandwiches that look good, but we have not needed them. We usually have an early lunch (11:30) and then an early dinner, so a small breakfast works for us. Later in the day, the dining options in World Showcase at EPCOT, Boardwalk and Yacht Club are minutes away. Since we are more into lunch and dinner, that's a huge benefit for us.

Moderates and Values are the resort category that have food courts. The focus of deluxes resorts is on table service and signature restaurants. What use to be referred to as a snack bar within deluxe resorts are now call counter service restaurants and they vary from resort to resort.

At Beach Club you can grab a bit at the Marketplace or head over to the Boardwalk Bakery about 5 minute walk. The marketplace can provide basic breakfast and sandwich items with a good selection of desserts. Getting hopper tickets when staying at an Epcot resort would also provide you with the ability to dine at Epcot or DHS too.

We have stayed at BC Four times.... ('04, '06, '08, and BCV May 2010).

While we have enjoyed the Bakery at Boardwalk for CS Breakfast...AND the CS Breakfast at the BC Marketplace looks Great.... (The CS lunch Roast Beef and Brie was YUMMY!)...

Our strategy for Breakfast was always as PP mentioned... WE drive in and bring Pop Tarts, Breakfast Bars, Cereal, Juice, (buy milk at marketplace), bring leftover packs of plasticware, paper towels, muffins, Grits, Oatmeal, etc.

All Three kids were told to fill up on breakfast (while getting ready) ...then we head to parks and after a few attractions... to a LUNCH CS or TS. (We are not really 'breakfast' people)

Exceptions were usually 'Ohana Breakfast TS.

This worked great for us...

Hugs,
Mary
PS: I hear Yacht Club has a hot CS option...you may want to check this out...PLUS ...since earlier trips .... Kouzzina is open...I'm not sure if DDP...but the breakfast menu looks FAB....

What about hurricane hannah's grill? I know there isnt much to it but it has hot food options? I think a burger, hot dog, and some cold sandwiches ....

Before our trip to BC last week we had stayed at POP,and i too was a little nervous of not having a food court. But the Market Place was ample.
For breakfast if we did not go tho the Boardwalk Bakery for an egg bacon and cheese coissant we bought bread and bagels from the Market Place and toasted them there. They have a small selection of cereals (fruit loops, froasted flakes and pop tarts i think!),milk, juice, muffins,it was plenty.
The only things my kids missed were the pancakes.Coffee as always,up to Disneys usual standards;)

That was the one and only drawback of the Yacht/Beach Club for me... lack of a food court.

I was thinking about this too!! Their burgers are great-the same burger you get at Beaches n Cream just alot cheaper!!!:goodvibes

They are by the pool and only open for lunch or dinner, so people looking for breakfast would not be looking at HH

:goodvibes How Ironic, this is the big draw for me at the deluxes. no food courts. I hate 'em.

Anyway,
the market place has a few "platter" options for breakfast. ham & egg croissants things like that. They do sell all the fixins for breakfast in your room. cereal, milk, even eggs and pancake mix. The BCV's is close by so they stock a small selection for those guest.

Does anyone happen to know if they sell half gallons of orange juice at the marketplace. I take a medication that needs to be mixed with juice and was hoping to buy a half gallon for the week and keep it in my bcv fridge. Thanks

I found the breakfast selection at the Marketplace to be more than adequate. It's in that small area in the back and can get a bit crowded at times but for the most part I thought it was great. You won't find hot options like pancakes or waffles like you would at a moderate or value resort but if you want something quick like a bagel, muffin or croissant then it's perfect.
Also, the afternoon/evening selections are great as well. They have sandwiches, soup, salads and some fantastic gelato.

We love HH for our counter service meals and a previous poster was correct, the burgers are great! Also, you have to try one of their smoothies. I fell in love with the "Lava Smoothie" and my kids had to have a "Sour Apple" one each day. Those may not be the exact name but pretty close!!

According to recent posts the homemade gelato is gone. They still have gelato but it isn't the same stuff and has only a couple of flavors.

According to posts, the gelato was removed to make way for more substantial hot breakfast offerings at BC Marketplace.

I give a thumbs up to the Captains Grille at the YC for breakfast. It is TS, but there is a buffet and the option to order off the menu. (no characters) It was a GREAT buffet, reasonably priced, and such a nice quiet experience. We ate there our last am prior to catching the ME to the airport. It has made us strongly consider staying YC vs BC next time. (and we've stayed BC twice and love it)

Have a fun trip!

Really??? Maybe I shouldn't call it a food court and refer to it as counter service. I have stayed at WL, GF, AKL and Contemporary and they all have indoor food court type places where we can get burgers, chicken fingers, sandwiches and salads for lunch as well as hot food (eggs, waffles etc.) for breakfast.:confused3

WL has Roaring Forks, GF has the Cafe, Contemporary has the Contempo Cafe and I can't remember what AKL's is called but it is right off the pool area. We went to the Marketplace on the Beach Club side once and all the had for lunch/dinner choices was a turkey sandwich, a roast beef sandwich and New England Clam Chowder. In fairness, we stayed CL at YC this past trip (our first time there) so I had no need to check out breakfast choices.
