We are doing online check in but I have never stayed here.
One of the check in options is larger balcony. I tried to find what that means compared to a regular balcony but couldn't. Can someone help with this?
Also we can request woods view or canal view. I would think canal right? Anyone have an opinion here?
Lastly do we care if we are lower or higher for view purposes? Most of what I read is that trees are in your way regardless of where you are for seeing Illuminations. So I am not sure being on a higher floor would be an important check for me.
Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me out.

The BCV all have patios/balconies. The online check in also applies to the BC resort. Those rooms do not all have large balconies, some are very small balconies that fit one person standing only. So that choice doesn't really apply to the villas.

If you are arriving early in the day you might not want to put in any requests. This past trip I didn't and the room was ready at 11:00. For the other 3 trips we didn't get the request and still had to wait till after 4:00. No great views anyway.

Some balconies are significantly larger than others. I've been in studios where I could have a party with 25 of my closest friends on the balcony. Then I've had other studios where it was a good thing I was solo-only one person could comfortably fit on the balcony. A couple years ago, DH and I had a 1 BR that had 2 balconies-good thing because only one of us could fit on each balcony sitting down. But after he left, I transferred to a studio where the one balcony was far bigger than the two balconies from the 1 BR combined. So there's real variation! Here's some photos-

Some of the balconies are so large/long as picture above show located on the back side of the resort facing Epcot. Other large balconies are round or part of it in a pie cut of the round balcony. These face the quiet pool. We have had all types but after having a large balcony it made a regular sized balcony seem small. Views are not good at BCV. Lower floors on the back side have views of the road. Many of the higher back side balconies have very limited view of pieces of Epcot. When BCV was 1st open, I enjoyed laying in bed and seeing Spaceship Earth in the distance. But the trees have grown and harder to see.
