Has anyone seen the new Be Our Guest Variety Show? It seems to have replaced "All Aboard" on both the Magic and the Wonder.

Curious how different it is from the previous first night show. Does it still have some production numbers interspersed with the variety acts (jugglers, comedians, etc)? Is the whole "Jeremy wanting to be a captain" storyline gone?

On the Wonder Jan 20, there were no production numbers, and it was a welcome to the cruise message from the Cruise Director followed by 2 segments of different performers who would be on-board for shows for the cruise.

Well, it's not a true production show, then. I guess it gives the individual performers a little more time to show what they do for their act.

That's pretty disappointing. Especially since it seems like the "Remember the Magic" show on the last night has also been retired. That's two fewer shows with the talented mainstage cast than we used to get on 7+ night cruises.

We always felt the shows on the first night and the last night were more commercials for DCL than shows. Yes, technically they were 'shows' but the message was more sales focused.....use the spa, book Palo, see the future cruise people, they managed to get it all in there.
Now that is just how we felt and we stopped going as we saw them many many times. Everyone is different and there are lots who do enjoy it. Very sorry if they are gone and you will miss them however we would not. Something new is always appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback! I am really torn whether I like this change or not. I thought the Welcome show was really cute. But it does not have a lot of repeatability. On my last cruise on the Fantasy we skipped it (the Fantasy version was much less enjoyable than the one on the classics) and I kind of missed having that show as a starting point to my cruise. So, the two veriety acts would definitely help it to keep it fresh. But then dancing characters kind of belong to a Disney cruise to me!

I don't really remember much about the welcome show on the Magic except the end. They had all these characters from Beauty and the Beast come out and sing Be Our Guest and there was some pyrotechnics on the stage that were pretty cool. Everything else wasn't memorable I guess.
