Be Our Guest Lunch FastPass Thread [PLEASE read the FAQs in the first post!]

Our 27 day window opens tonight, and the WDW system is telling me there are no FP+ available for BOG on 11/25/14. So, am I just early (I was just testing my reservation number to see if the number I'd used was right-of course, had it given me a time, I surely would've taken it), or are there really no FP+ left? :(

Yes you are just early. The will become available after midnight tonight. They will not show until you are exactly 27 days out.

Thank you! :goodvibes I was panicking there for a minute!

Here's something else that threw me off: now, I can't log into the Disney reservation system at all! It keeps telling me my e-mail and PW don't match!

Question- I have two hotel reservations for November. I was able to get BOG FP+ for the first one, but for the second one it would never show any date past November 12th. My second trip is the week of Thanksgiving. I read on the front page that sometimes you have to create a separate log-in for the second reservation so I did that today and put in my reservation number and it still only shows through November 12th??!! I don't understand since others are able to get times that week. Any ideas?

Did you create your new log-in with an email address that Disney has never heard of before, perhaps one from someone else in your party? If you used your own email address, or one already known to Disney, it will default to that first reservation. The only way the second log-in has been known to work is with an email that is totally new to the Disney system.

That's right. I had to create an account with my son's name and email to get a BOG lunch FP that included everyone on our 2nd ressie. Using my name /email or my husbands defaulted to our 1st ressie which was for just the 2 of us. Our 2nd ressie was for 7 people, one of which was my son.

I did use a brand new one and registered it. I am all out of new addresses.

I am also ready for the 11/25 scheduling. I have set up two accounts (two different rooms) just for that purpose. I also received the BOG lunch e-mail today. Will I need to use the provided e-mail link or just log into the BOG lunch site to schedule these? I don't want to mess this up.

Got our fast passes for Nov 24th thanks to this GREAT thread and all the information and experiences from people!! :cool1:

I did want to share one headache I had with it for others. We have an apostrophe in our last name, and when my friend set up our DVC reservation under his points he used it. (I usually don't use the apostrophe when i do ressies or online stuff, but I didn't think to tell him.) Anyway, no matter what I did it would not find my reservation in the BOG fastpass system. I checked to make sure it matched MDE, double checked, triple checked, tried with and without the apostrophe, nothing. I thought maybe it was a DVC problem. Then I remembered my friend had asked for all the names in the villa and my parents are coming, so I tried my mom's name and it worked! She is not the main contact on the reservation, so I guess the apostrophe confused it. But then because I had MY email address typed in when I submitted the form, the system got even more confused and over-wrote my fast pass with her name in MDE. An easy change but annoying. I don't know what we would have done if my parents weren't going though, that needs to be fixed on Disney's side.

Another experience, you have to "filter" the menu to find the allergy items. Otherwise they don't pop up at all. Took me a second to figure that one out.

So I guess my only question is, what happens if we arrive towards the end of our fastpass time but end up in a long line and arrive at the front after the fastpass time. Will we be turned away? Should we make sure to be there at the start of the time?? Thanks as always!!

Thanks for the info on filtering the menu for the allergy items! I was able to go back and filter out peanut/tree nuts from my son's meal! :)

I just got a reservation for 4 on November 19th. I tried (refreshed every 30 minutes) for nearly 24 hours before a reservation came up. The system is either flakey or there's a lot of churn (people rescheduling or cancelling previous reservations). I'll go with flakey.

I thought my experience may help those with dietary needs. My youngest princess: has celiac disease. They had an option to filter the list of menu items for particular ingredients. The button was found on the bottom left of the screen. In some cases, the menu item changed to adapt to the dietary need specified. For example, there are two sandwiches which are not by default gluten free (obviously the bread). However, when you use the Filter option (bottom left of menu picking screen), it changes the kid meal options for two sandwiches. The grilled cheese and turkey sandwich changes to use a different type of bread (Millet bread). There was also a pork meal which is naturally gluten free (as it didn't appear to change after the filter).

My biggest disappointment was there was no "dessert" for kids. There is a cookie normally available, but nothing that gets swapped in as a replacement. They do offer sides for kids that are gluten free, so it's a very small disappointment. Just a tough one when you're asking your kids what they want as a side and the gluten eaters have that as an option. She was excited about the peach applesauce, but I decided to also surprise her with the gluten free lemon raspberry cream puff (item on the regular/adult dessert menu)!

Thank you for the details on this. I'm also traveling with someone who has celiac and this was just what I was wondering. Great info!

I have a hyphen in my last name, which is also in my MDE profile. Do you think it would be better to leave it out of the BOG FP+? I always use it in ADRs with no problems but have had issues with non-disney system (like airline reservations).

Wow! Thanks for all of the info! Our window opens up on Thursday for 11/26. Is midnight still the best time to login for availability?

I logged in on Saturday and Sunday nights and on both days the system opened around 11:30 pm pst (which is 2:30 am est). Good luck!

Thanks! Guess I'll set my alarm :) And I just checked and it's tonight that I can make my FP! Good thing I had it in my phone lol!

I feel compelled to write this so those frantic for a FP
Can see exactly what they are facing. Short version is that they have managed to make lunch here more of an ordeal than it was on my first visit two years ago grand opening week.

FP was for 12:10 I arrived 12:05 and checked in. No prob get in the bridge long line and say I preordered. There was no one to tell for five minutes and that was when she finally stopped chatting and remembered to ask. Put me in the left line, those in the longer right line needed to order. A woman shouted at me I was smart....I felt smart for a short while. But then I had a 20 min wait by the knights to be able to confirm my order. The family behind me was jumped straight to a register for no reason in could see but the rest of us had to wait. The old "fill in space"'was barked out and the girl behind me who works for Universal stared at the CM and said "but then we'll line cut, you can't do that in a crowd like this". She was horrified. Order at last and can't find a table in ballroom or West wing. I roamed forever until finding one in musicbox room. Put my utensils down and took two steps to grab a drink only to hear someone woman announce my table was perfect and try to take it with my stuff on it! Stopped that fast and she made a face at me. The roses were great spot markers they need to be used for everyone and CMs need to help with table finding

After ordering 27 days ago, spending 10 mins outside and 20 mins inside and then ten trying to find a table, it took them 30 mins to bring my food. A CM came over 10 mins in and demanded to see my receipt, said food would be out soon but no one else checked on me to see why I was sitting there for so long unserved. Food wasn't as good as last lunch.

They still don't tell you to get your own drink and utensils, I knew from before but the poor family next to me sat there waiting because they were told to find a seat and everything would be brought to them. Luckily I heard them talking to each other and explained. On my other side, they brought two plates out at a time for a party of 4 adults and 2 kids with LONG delays in between. Really???

My dining area quickly emptied so there is again no reason for a line other than the tedious entry process. It is very pretty but this is my last lunch visit unless they make serious changes. Nothing has improved with getting people in efficiently and IMO delays and service are far worse.

Preorders should be taken in right to a table and their order confirmed and paid for table side. People who didn't preorder shouldn't be left waiting forever. Give them menus and get it done. It is truly not worth this

From what I have read, the better choice is to book and make your dining selections in advance. My question is: If you don't get a confirmation, and it doesn't show up in MDE, and going to the fp site and checking can be spotty, how are you able to modify your dining selections, or how do you switch from a simple BOG fp to an expedited lunch at a later date?
I read the whole post #1, but if the answer is there, I don't understand it.

We didn't pre order when we went in September and all the CMs were completely boggled! They kept saying and you're FP+ and DIDN'T pre order?, as though I had just murdered a puppy. We did have to wait longer in line than those that did but I'm sorry that I didn't know exactly what I wanted for lunch 28 days ago!

It's 11:03am CDT (meaning it's 12:03am EDT), and I still can't book. I wouldn't think anything of it and just try again in the morning, but I'm sick and grouchy, and I want the system to work the way it's supposed to.

Oh lord, I just went back and read some other posts, and one said the system opens at 2:30am EDT!!! I'm going to bed.

I am trying to stay up until 2:30 to get it. A little over an hour to go.

Start trying at 2:00 am- some folks have been able to get through earlier. Good luck!

Got 'em. Saved me a little time.

I would like to thank all of the people on the DIS Boards that gave me advice on how to get two Be Our Guest FastPasses for two different rooms. I had to cancel a trip in May (along with a Be Our Guest Dinner ADR) and re-schedule it for November, and that required me to get another e-mail address and everything worked great. We find the most helpful people on these boards and my family and are are appreciative. Now if November 20th would hurry up and get here.
