be honest , are you the most successful person from your year of high school?

Finished HS in '88. Would not have a clue what has happened to classmates.

I'm successful because I'm happy and surrounded by happy people. Not so successful if it means having squillions in the bank.

I am a sahm with 3 beautiful children and a wonderful husband. I'd say I am pretty successful. I am not really sure you can compare success by ticking off items on a list as the list varies by person, but can't think of anybody I'd trade places with.

Love this!

Nope I'm not the most successful, I was the outcast and it came around that "those" people (the popular crowd) DEF peaked in h/s!!!

Wow how does he have time to keep in touch with 500 classmates!! That's incredible! He must have a super long Christmas card list.
Feel better?
My DS was the only member of the football team (the seniors), THE ONLY ONE to actually pursue some sort of higher education.
There were only about 50 out of his entire class that had plans to pursue some sort of either trade school or college post high school graduation. The demographic of his high school was very mixed with many kids coming from parents with backgrounds in gaming, manufacturing and distribution. There is absolutely nothing wrong with any of those career paths but the mentality was not focused on the pursuit of higher training/education.
Its not hard to figure out who did what. Sure, some may pursue something later in life but as of now, the majority of them did not, his Christmas card list is actually quite short. :P

I realize many define success differently but when I read the question, my immediate thought of response revolved around education/career paths and therefore, so did my response.

I only had 325 in my graduating class and I doubt I had any hot clue what 300 of them had planned for after high school. My mother probably knew about 5 which were my close friends.

I was voted "Most Likely to Succeed - Girl." I'm doing fine, career-wise; I haven't heard that any of my female classmates have major careers. One male classmate is an MD, and another is a PhD, so by traditional standards, they are probably winning. (Ironically, neither was the "Most Likely to Succeed - Boy.")

Funny thing is when I think of "successful" in the traditional sense, 3 of the most successful in my class were terrible students in HS. 1 is a musician, 1 a retired pro athlete, the 3rd a doctor. LOL

I think that is true of a lot of us! I was far more interested in my social life than my academic life in high school!

And we probably all define success in different ways. To me it is education, although it doesn't have to be college. It just has been for the majority of those I am thinking about as I type.

Well the winner (that I know of since I don't know what half the class of 300+ are doing...) has a 3 million dollar place in Manhattan and a house in the Hampsteads. I think he beat me by a mile!

I don't like competitions or comparing my lives to others. But yes I'm amazing! :D

No seriously I don't even keep up nor care what my counterparts have done with their life. I think I'm doing better than I thought in life so far, so I'm doing okay.

I have to admit knowing people in that group (my future in laws) but I find my friend who has a cute little home, married his high school sweet heart, has two adorable children, and his dream job just as sucessful if not more simply because I never hear him complain about a thing but the people I know with the most money are the ones that seem the most unhappy.

No way. My class had about 140 and I keep up with about 1/2 of them from Facebook. Our 40th reunion will be in the next year and we have already had 10% or so die which is really sad.

I have a family member who took a different path. He dropped out of HS, took a couple of jobs and went back to school and is now working on an advanced degree. I am sure most of his class never thought he would ever amount to anything, but they would be wrong. You can't go on graduation to determine their future.

I sure am! But I was homeschooled and graduated class of 1, so there ya go! People I went to Jr. High with are doing really good. I have a successful life in I am married for 8 years, have 3 wonderful boys, and I like my home. There is financial success and life success. Sometimes they match up and sometimes they don't.

I went to 5 different high schools. No way am I the most successful. I am probably at the bottom of the list. I know of three different people who are very wealthy.

Out of 150+ in my class of 1971 I only keep in contact with two. I have no idea how others have done.

I guess success is hard to measure. In my own terms I would say that I am probably not the least, but definitely NOT the most successful. The way things have been going the last couple years, I would put myself in the bottom 25%.

Add me to the "don't know, don't care" list. I haven't gone to any reunions and I've deleted most off Facebook.

I have an awesome career, a loving husband and two beautiful daughters. Life is good and I've exceeded my expectations for my life in my early 30s.

We had Paramore's leading lady and a really successful pediatric heart surgeon who would vie for that title. I work at a lawn mower shop. LOL!
