Be careful with park tickets when getting Fastpasses!!

I lost mine, and it had charging priveleges on it, too. I think, probably in the Fast Pass machine. I have old tickets from trips long ago and never had this issue before Fast Pass.. which is why I still have mine. Fortunatley, the UPH can be easily cancelled and reissued with absolutley no hassle! It's an advantage the UPH has over the others I guess, and something to think about when deciding what kind of ticket to buy.

If you make a copy of the tickets with a copy machine does that decode them

No, it does not. Magnetic strips are unaffected by copiers. Try copying your credit card some time. No problem.

My responsible 14 year old came back from getting fastpasses and low and behold we were missing one. I had copied them and was able to produce the info. While we were working out the details at customer service the 14 yo felt so bad he went back to the ride for the third time and talked to more of the workers and one of the CM's had the ticket. He brought it back and it was verified to be ours. Definitely make a copy of the tickets!!

Also a big thank you to everyone who has turned those tickets in!!! While I know they were going to produce us a duplicate ticket it sure was faster to have had the CM give us our regular ticket!!

I've never lost a ticket, and hopefully I won't. I like the idea of copying the back of the ticket. Usually I hold both tickets for myself and my SO, but on out next trip her sons (19 and 23) might be going with us. I'm worried about them as they always seem to be losing things like that. I know there will be times when they will want to take off on their own, and so will we. I'll rest a bit easier knowing I can get the tickets replaced if need be, even if it takes a while.

will the back of the voucher have the same info as the back of the ticket since I won't activate the voucher and get the actual AP till I get to WDw or will they make me a copy if I ask them when I do activate the ap?Thanks

When there were coupons they had credit cards for flex passes for hotel packages. I found a fast pass at Buzz Light year. I did the same thing and gave it to a CM. I was thinking I wonder if they could program the ticket to come out first and then the FP. I think what is happening is they loose sight of the fact to pick up their ticket when they are finished.??????

Don't stress too much about it - you are no more likely to lose the tickets than you are to lose a credit card - and you take good care of them, right?

Ahem...:o I've lost my credit card on 2 out of my 3 trips to WDW. Both times at 50's Prime Time Cafe! Luckily, on both occasions it was found and turned in so I got it back. But I've often worried about losing the park hopper tickets, and this next trip will be our first time w/ AP's so I'm definitely going to have to bring the receipts along and make copies!

TalkDisney.com and read the horror stories on a board there about losing tix etc at Disney. It is under the "Trip planning forum" and "Disney for Families". The thread is called "Hope someone can learn from my HUGE mistake." All kinds of stories about losing PHP tix and such (including my own story!). Sorry I can't paste the link here.... I'm a computer dummy!!....P:crazy:

I went to look and that thread IS NOT there. It IS however, here on this forum on the DISNEY FOR FAMILIES discussions. ;)

I found a ticket in a fastpass machine, and I was horrified! It was a 5-day hopper plus ticket, it cost well over $200. I asked the CM that I turned it into, what would happen if an honest person like me didn't turn it in? Are the owners out a pass? They told me NO...they just have to go to the ticket booth and would be issued a new pass.

Now, I am not sure you would even need your reciept. Some people who order over the phone don't even get a reciept. When I picked up my passes, she had ALL of my purchases of passes from the past two years in front of her on the computer. So, I am sure if someone lost their pass, they could go to the ticket booth and it would show that they did in fact purchase a pass, the CM could cancel the lost pass and issue another. They can even check by way of the ticket number how many days were left on the pass.

Basically, Disney has you covered if you ever lose your VERY EXPENSIVE pass. But I would still be very careful and make sure you DON"T lose them. I think it is terific of Disney. Alot of other places would not care if you lost your ticket. Not their problem, right?

Just a little word to the wise for anyone going to Disney and getting Fastpasses... Make sure to take your last ticket when it comes out of the machine - don't just grab your Fastpasses and go! When I was there during Thanksgiving week, I went to get Fastpasses for Space Mountain, walked up to a Fastpass machine, and there sat someone's ticket...they had taken their Fastpasses, and left their last ticket sticking out of the machine...and the really awful thing was that someone walked up to the Fastpass machine next to mine, and they also had a ticket sticking out! So, 2 lost/left tickets within a matter of minutes! I did give both of them to a CM, who said she would get them to a SM worker (there was no CM working the Fastpass machine....) I hope that the lost tickets got back to their rightful owners, but what are the chances?? So, remember to take your Fastpasses AND tickets, and also make copies of your ticket info in case you do lose them!

Dana:)

I heard that making a copy of the ticket can wipe out the electronic bar code thing? Is that true?

I would assume not, as I was told by the Disney Store employees to make sure that I make a copy of the backs of my tickets. I would hope that they would know.... and I've already made the copies, so I guess we will find out in January when I go to use my tickets!!:p

I lost a 4 day hopper once 2 years ago, I had three days left. Because I bought it at AAA at home, Disney refused to replace it. I had to buy another 4 day hopper.

That was what happened to us. Bought at AAA. Disney refused to help.... until DW began to cry... .then they quickly gave her a brand new 5 day hopper.... A disney mom's secret weapon... Tears.... princess:

Edit:
I should have added that they said the important thing is having the numbers on the back so they can trace it. So copy, copy, copy (as has been said many times) or just write down the numbers. If you have the numbers Disney doesn't care where you got them from.

I was thinking of buying my next hoppers from AAA, but I guess I'll either do it online from Disney or at the Disney store. I doubt we will lose them, but I want the minimum amount of hassle if we do :p
