BCV trip report with photos!! Final thoughts and photos added!

WAIT!!! This was 'Wednesday' June 1st correct? I thought the Boardwalk Buskers only performed on Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

Did anyone else think this? Has this changed recently? We are planning a BWV trip around seeing the Boardwalk Buskers. One idea was to hit Vero Beach for Thu, Fri, Sat night and head to BWV for Sun-Thu but I didn't like that plan because we would only be able to see the Boardwalk Buskers on the last night!

Our favorite is the Magician Antoine!

I'm not positive, i could have my days mixed up!!!

Day 4, Animal Kingdom

We got to Animal Kingdom probably close to opening time. I sent the girls toward expedition everest while I went to get FP for the Safari. When I got to the safari, there was no one else getting FP's never seen that before. I walked to Asia and found DW and we went through the single rider line even though the standby line was only a ten minute wait. We never stopped we went right on the the first train that came. The girls went back for a second ride and decided that was enough. We strolled around a bit and got back to the Safari for our FP time and found that we probably didn't even need it. We did get on a truck fairly quickly, but I think the standby line was maybe 20 minutes?

We left the Safari and headed to the Festival of the Lion King show and it had been quite a while since I had seen it, glad we went! We were starting to get hungry and decided to head towards Rainforest Cafe. I know how bad of reviews this place gets but we always enjoy it, we think it is a neat atmosphere and it always feels wonderfully cool inside after a warm trek around AK!

My DD had nachos and they were pretty good and enough to feed a small army, DDF had a burger and judging from how quickly it was gone she enjoyed it, i had the appetizer platter which is made for two and I had everyone at the table helping me eat it, my DW had the best meal:

Jungle Chop Salad - Romaine and Iceberg lettuce, black olives, cucumbers, carrots, red cabbage, candied pecans, Blue cheese crumbles, dried cranberries, grilled chicken in a raspberry vinaigrette dressing $16.29

it was delicious, she shared some with me and couldn't come close to finishing but said it was one the best salads she has ever eaten.

We headed to the exit after lunch and DW and I decided to go check out Kidani and the girls caught a bus to DHS.

Please AKV lovers don't feel you need to defend AKV, but I didn't care for it. I just didn't like the feel of the resort particularly the look of the exterior. I understand that the high grass fits the African theme, but maybe I'm just too domesticated, I love the manicured lawns and beautifully landscaped areas of BCV, BWV and SSR. I have seen photos of the rooms and I think they are the best themed rooms DVC has, maybe if I were staying there in those rooms I would feel differently.

Anyhoo, after visiting and catching a bus back to AK I mentioned my feelings to my DW and she felt the same way. We have always thought alike and after 28 years of marriage that hasn't changed! We got back to the resort and took a little nap. Later we walked out to Hurricane Hannah's and I drank a beer from our room to there and decided to get another one when I got there and bought my DW a Pina Colava. We sat out in a shaded bench and drank and watched people go by. I noticed a family on the beach all wearing khaki pants and white shirts with dad trying to set the camera on a pole and run to get in the shot. I go over and offer to shoot the photo for them. I took a few different angles and they should be pleased. Isn't nice to have a professional photographer walk up at such a time!

We walked over to BW and shopped and watched street entertainers and had a forgettable cheeseburger at the kiosk. We headed back to the room and again watched the higher fireworks from our balcony!

Tomorrow, Epcot and Chefs de France!!

Great photos, I love that one of the girls brought her turtle with her.

Ah, AK & AKV my fav, thanks for the wonderful pics! I can't wait to see my nieces faces when we get there on Halloween and they wake up the next morning with animals outside their room.

Great report and photos. Thanks so much for sharing. :thumbsup2

As I sat and read through this this morning, it has brought a tear :sad1: to my eye wishing that October would hurry up and get here so I can get back to WDW! Your photos made me feel like I am there. Only 4 more months to go and we will be back.

Thanks again! :flower1:

Gorgeous pictures! Thanks.
Lucky to have a 10 day BCV trip planned in September and cannot wait!
This doesn't make it any easier ;)

Thanks for the AK pics! Just yesterday morning I was trying to describe the lobbies of AK to friend we are taking next May, I also told her we want to see the FOTLK show. Now I can show her these pics!

Wow Bob..you truly have a gift! I always love your photos!!! :goodvibes

Thanks, it is what I do for a living! I honestly don't put a great deal of effort in shooting photos at WDW, I usually just take my camera and a wide angle zoom to the parks. I usually take my 70-200 with me to take photos of the safari.

I am a the chief photographer for a small daily newspaper and I have my own business as well. Here is a link to my photo business website, if you'd like to see some photos I get paid to shoot!!
