As an owner of BCV, I've read with sadness and concern the many negative reports regarding room condition, housekeeping, staff, etc. over the last few months. I must admit that I was less than impressed with the condition of our room in May.

While I realize that the vast majority of stays are positive, I don't seem to remember any recent positive reviews lately - and it's bumming me out! So please, to calm the ever fraying nerves of other BCV owners, if you've had a recent positive experience at BCV, please post your report - before we lose our minds!

It's awful, everyone should stay away, especially during christmas and spring break when we have a harder time getting our reservations there if we try to use Vero points. :)

Usually, after a spate of bad trip reports, we do a survey and have people rate their experiences at the resorts. Overwhelmingly, the polls indicate a high satisfaction level with all resorts.

Let's face it, many people go to WDW, have a good time and don't bother to post anything since it was what they expected. On the other hand, a bad experience sometimes calls for some well-deserved venting, and this board is a great place to do so.

I wouldn't worry about it. In fact, I think I'll toss another one of those polls out there when I can figure out how to word it so it's not "self-fulfilling". :p

I think this time the number of bad reports is indicating a trend.

One or two, yes it is a fluke.

Kind of reminds me of the person driving the car and one wheel falls off. Says he "that's ok I've three more and one in the trunk, I'll keep going".

I second that. :teeth:

Seriously, we stayed in a 2brm in late April and everything was perfect.

Don't worry about BCV. Remember, it was just given the coveted four diamond rating by AAA for 2004. I think BWV was the only other DVC property to get that prestigious award.

Despite what some posters on these boards would like you to believe, the problems being described are not limited to BCV. My first trip to WDW was at GF and that was a nightmare. We were kept awake 'til 3:30am by rowdy, inebriated convention-ears partying in the main pool. They were hooting, doing cannon-balls, throwing each other in, you name it. Security did nothing about it despite repeated calls to the front desk. My wife finally went down to the desk in her bathrobe! We still had a great trip because we didn't let it get to us.

Personally, I think a lot of those who rag on Beach Club are jealous. ;)

I own at BCV. What am I jealous of ???

I don't expect everything to be perfect. But the number of complaints about BCV has been increasing. More so than at the other BCV sites.

I had a series of problems there last March. Serious enough for management to give me several free days.

When your card gets deactivated before you check out (This happened at 9:00 on morning of checkout, express checkout at that). Your bill is wrong. You can't charge to your room because you are checked out..NOT, and you have a card showing check-out for the next day. You are told to get a new key because it will not work but is does (checked it out before I got a new one). Then the next morning we find four more new keys slipped under the door (there was only two of us). Failure to be given your key cards at check-in. All these things took place over a period of time of my 10 day stay. It got to be a what's next expectation. That is no vacation. It is a pain in the butt !!!!!!!

And I'm jealous??? More like ticked off!!!!!!!......30 grand ticked off!!!!!!!

One or two bad infrequent experiences is understandable. What we are seeing are not infrequent or few.

Three trips - three wonderful experiences. Studios were sparkling clean (actually there was a drip down the front of the refrigerator last time - horrors). I probably should have called housekeeping, but I wiped it off myself. I'm sure we'll have a less-than-perfect experience sometime, but as of now I'm a proud and very satisfied owner!

Have made 3 stays at BCV's, 2 at BWV's and 1 at OKW and can say I would go back to any of these Resorts although my favorite is BCV's and that is why I chose BCV as my HOME.
I would also like to see more people make their reservations at the other DVC Resorts so it would make it easier for me to get a reservation at the BCV.
Does that tell you anything, it tells me people like the place.

Enjoy your HOME !

Have stayed at the BCV during each of my many trips over the last two years. I never expect perfection and have always, always completely enjoyed my stay.

We stayed at BCV in June and found everything to be in good order, CMs were very courteous and helpful, and bus transportation was actually good. I did post these experiences here when I returned, but posts don't seem to stay on the front page or two very long unless the subject matter is negative or controversial.

GOOD POINT !!!!!!

Count me in as a thoroughly satisfied BCV owner. We've stayed at BWV and Animal Kingdom Lodge and both were wonderful. However, paying the unbelievably high rates at AKL, we still received poor service and had more than a couple of issues on three different stays. Even so, I love the resort and will most likely rest my tired body there again someday.

We've had glorious stays at BCV, and considering just how darn busy it stays compared to the other DVC resorts, I imagine the few of us that are posting positive reviews are not alone. Everyone has different expectations when they travel, and I may get flamed for saying this, but I have found a common theme to most "BCV is awful" threads......room assignment. It seems that most disappointed folks begin by saying they didn't get their room assignment. We all go into this gig knowing that we won't always get the perfect view or location, yet it seems that some really count on that particular aspect of the vacation. That's not to say I don't want a wonderful room in October and December--of course I do! Bottomline, in my opinion you can't beat BCV for the location or the pool (including food and beverage service). We are very glad we bought at BCV and look forward to many more rewarding trips.

BCV has some serious problaems there is no doubt about that, but even with these problems I would say you would have to be unlucky to really have a bad experience. Having said that, luck should never have to come into play for everything to go right either. The rooms at the BCV villas run from $294 to $1040 for a 2 bedroom during holiday times, there are no grand villas, at those prices you should never have to worry. Something has to be done there, but like I said, you should not worry, it probably will not happen to you, the odds are against it even at BCV.

We have stayed at BCV 5 times since we purchased in 2002. We have only had one problem which occurred this past May and BCV management took care of it quickly and satisfactorily.

Please speak up while you are still on property if there is a problem. Give Disney a chance to make things right. Be courteous but let them know what it will take to satisfy you. They want you to have a good stay.

We love BCV!

I've had two wonderful visits at BCV and reported on both, but of course, since they are not negative, they don't get 60 responses to keep them at the top of the board and 3200 reads.

As far as I'm concerned - the fewer members that want to stay there, the better chances I have of getting the room I want and the ressies I want!

I am not at all concerned!

I own at BWV and BCV. I have had 5 stays at the BCV, 3 of these involved housekeeping problems. I called and had the problems rectified, even though it took time out of my vacation.

I agree with donmil723's comment:

I think it's very important that we speak up. If you don't get satisfaction, bump the complaint up to the next level, until the problem is resolved.

Note: my room complaints did not have anything to do with a room assignment, as I make no view requests when staying at the BCV. IMHO, at this resort, there is no great view, so I don't care where the room is.

Chances are your room will be OK. The BCV offer a great location, the rooms are gorgeous (when clean), and SAB is a fun pool.

Relax and enjoy!!

We stayed in a 2 br with 2queens in July and it couldn't have been more perfect. Everything operated as it was supposed to, the furniture did not seem worn, and all supplies were in the kitchen.

They CM's couldn't have been nice or more helpful and they welcomed us "home" several times.

We are thrilled that BCV is our home resort and wouldn't trade it for the world!

My first stay at BCV was last week and I did have problems, but I still loved my "HOME" resort. My next trip I still plan on staying there again.
I also want to note the my problem with my room had nothing to do with room assignment. The last couple of reviews I've read also did not have anything to do with room assignments.

Excellent point. Positive trip reports barely make a ripple on these boards.

However, when Chicken Little posts that the sky is falling, everyone jumps on the bandwagon.
