BCV or BWV? Which would you choose and why?

I think I'm leaning towards BCV because of Stormalong Bay but we're going in November so who even knows if it'll be warm enough to swim.

We're going as a family. 6 adults, 3 children under 5, staying in a 2BR and a studio. I've never seen either resort so any information form those who know would be appreciated.

thanks!

Amy

We're looking at the same 2 resorts. We did BWV last time and loved it. This time, my brother, his wife, and 18-mo-old son will join us. I'm thinking about trying BCV this time, and Stormalong Bay is one of the main reasons. We'll do a 2BR, made up of a 1BR and a Studio-- we're staying longer than my brother, so we could drop the Studio after they leave.

The 1BR's offer a lot of room and conveniences. Check http://www.dvcresorts.com for floorplans (they're pretty much identical between the 2 resorts).

Good Luck!

Just made this decision ourselves and we chose BCV. We only returned from WDW on 2/10, but have already decided to go again in August!!
We had a 2bdrm villa at the BCV, for myself, DH, DD17, DS16, DD13, and DD2.We also had a studio for my parents. Before we left we talked about staying at the BWV for the next trip, but have since changed our minds and stormalong bay is the main reason. We loved the boardwalk area but you can enjoy that with a short walk from the BCV. Stormalong bay is only avail. to those staying at the BC/YC/BCV. We used the pool 3 times during the 8 days we were there. The temp. was so cool one night (50'ish) that there was steam coming off the pool, but we were all swimming and my 2 yr old was sitting in the 84 degree water playing with her bucket and the sand! Going in August, we will be spending alot of time at the pool. If we go again during the winter (Jan -early Feb.), I think we will try the BWV. You'll love either one and you can't beat the spaciousness compared to 2 hotel rooms!

I personally would choose BCV over BWV. BCV is more laid back where at BWV, being on the boardwalk, not knowing exactly where you room lies, you could end up getting too close to the noise of the Boardwalk at night. Not what I want in a vacation. The only plus I can see to BWV is that it is closer to all that action, more restaurants, etc. My family is not in to the nightlife so much that we want it right outside the door.

We have stayed at BWV many times and twice with a room right on the boardwalk. When your doors are closed there is virtually no noise. We were over "Crest of the Wave" last year, almost next to the clubs, and still almost no noise. We were once on the back side in what you would think was a very quiet area and all we heard were service vehicles in the very early morning. So looks can be deceiving. We will be at BCV this year for the first time. There are reports of traffic noise at BCV since some of the rooms are virtually right on the road. I think it's luck of the draw and since there are pluses to both resorts they are equal IMHO. Have a great trip!

We love both of them!

We have stayed at the BWV twice - In Feb and in October. The OCt trip we stayed in a GV that over looked the BW. We all really enjoyed being on the boardwalk. There was not a problem with the noise and the kids loved watching the fireworks and the performers every night from the balcony.

This November we tried the BCV. It was great being so close to SAB.

I think you will enjoy either resort! Have a great trip!

Tough choice but I would go with Boardwalk, simply on the fact that the rooms are bigger as is the bathroom area.
