I checked in at the BCV on sunday morning after being at OKW for a week and found the staff at 8AM check in to be very nice, but after call in meny times to see if our room was ready things went south very fast. Asked to see if they had any idea on when the room might be ready and was only told, rooms don't have to be ready until 4. With having a 1 year old this was not the answer I wanted to hear, expecialy after our check at OKW was at 8:30 AM and the cast member said you might want to stay around the area beacuse our room would be ready soon, and it was 1/2 hour.

Well after having a nice talk with the front desk staff at 2:30 our room was ready at 4PM and it looked like CR**. there was 2 light out and there were many areas of the room that look not be vacumed.

I own at OKW & BCV and don't know if we will be back to this
BCV before the little one can use the big pool and the staff can be a little more inteligent with DVC memebers. I have been here for 4 days and only 1 welcome home.

Check in time is 4pm. While there are frequently rooms ready before that time, I think it's asking way too much to walk in at 8:30 am and expect a room to be ready for you. As owners, we know that 4pm is check in time and we need to plan around that (no matter how old our kids are). If a room is ready before 4, I consider it a bonus.

On top of that, BCV is a very popular resort and (if I remember correctly) has the smallest number of villas. My understanding is that it is at capacity very often. If this is the case, it's highly unlikely that a room would be vacated at 8:30am...much less cleaned already.

I'm sorry your room wasn't satisfactory. I hope you were able to get housekeeping replace the bulbs! (Definitely time to upgrade to long life bulbs, DVC). If there is anything questionable (lack of vacuuming, etc.), I'd call them right away and expect them to get it right.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Most timeshares have a 4 or 5 check-in time, so I never expect to get in before that, but am pleasantly surprised if I do.

I hope you insisted that maintanance fix the light bulbs and that housekeeping come back and vacuumn. If I was not prepared to wait for housekeeping, I would dig the vacuum out of the closet and do it myself, but that's just me. We all have to take responsibility to let them know if something isn't right.

I've been a member at OKW since 1994 and stayed at BCV for the first time this JUne. The desk staff was wonderful! We checked in at 12:30pm and they asked us if we have any preferences because none were listed. We got great unit and it was ready then. We got wonderful treatment all around and would definitely return(unlike BWV staff who were very rude and unaccomdating..never to return). Sorry you had a bad experience.

I was just at BCV the week after Thanksgiving. I had requested a 12:30 check in. Key work REQUESTED. It was not ready upon arrival. So we had lunch at Beaches and Cream. At 1:45, it still was not ready. So we went to AK. We returned at 5 and it was ready, of course.

They can only guarantee an early room to be ready before 4 pm. No promises on what time before 4:00.

The early request does not excuse the sorry state of the room - seems like BCV housekeeping issues are rearing up again lately

thanks

Part of the problem lies with the system they employ, ie. "Call to see if its ready". I asked the girl at the front desk what an appropriate time interval would be between calls and she said "Every half-hour would be OK". This seemed excessive to me, but it was what I was told:confused:

I had the opposite happen. I got more Welcome Home's than anyone would want, not that I care. Also, they could not have been nicer. The room was immaculate, ready early and everyone was super friendly. I would never make a judgement on a place based on one stay. I have been to the BCV 3 times and each time was excellent. Can't wait to go back again.

Just got home after a 28 hour drive with many little stops for the little one.

Well, first I did not ask for early entry into my room, all I wanted was an idea of when it might be ready. I don't think this is going to far. They should have an idea on when the housekeeping staff gets into the room and with adding the average time + a fug factor to say the room could be ready by xx. Also, I would think there would be a way to tell if someone check in that housekeeping could try to clean thous rooms first. Why clean a room at 10 AM when the person is not there and might not get there until after 6PM. That to me seems like a system that could be inproved.

One thing about the room that really sucked was the lack of space to hang clothes and store them. Compated to OKW and most of our stays at OKW, this was just not enough.

I think after having a few days to cool down, the room was not that bad and will go back when the little one gets older and can use the SAB. Maybe we will bank our point at BCV and go every other year, and go try to get to OKW at least once if not twice a year.

Alright, where were all the lime green ribbons? I also checked out of BCV yesterday, spent almost 28 hours in transit-3 1/2 hour flight (!?)(That's another story for transportation). Thought front desk was great-gave me a choice of clean rooms at 11:00 a.m. which I investigated for cleanliness (would have whipped out the white gloves but I forgot them). Got many "Welcome Home"'s. Art the Greeter is as nice in person as he is with Samantha Brown on TV. I also had a burnt out light, which they came and fixed within 15 minutes. I thought it was funny though-I asked them to bring up a light bulb and I'd put it in. "Oh, no! We don't like the guests to change their own light bulbs", so they sent Engineering...to change a lightbulb?!

I checked out of BCV yesterday too!And I do have a green ribbon but it is on one of my suitcases. It was added a few years ago and pretty sad looking by now!

When I checked in on Friday (around 11am), there were many DVCers also checking in. We were offered a room immediately but when we went up to it, housekeeping was in there. The cabinets were emptied and the housekeeper was waiting to have the carpet shampooed. She said there was a mix up and the room was not ready. She saw I had a nine month old and said she especially wanted to clean the carpet with a baby present (me too!). We went downstairs and I mentioned to the front desk that the room looked kind of "beat up" to me. They said they would re-assign us but the new room would not be ready until 4pm (although we could call and check to see it if was ready earlier). It was ready at 3:30. They were very busy with check ins. Our new room was spotless! The carpet was freshly shampooed. The dishwasher started to leak (the cap from the rinse agent was missing) but they sent someone up immediately and fixed it.

We were in a dedicated 2 bedroom. There were 2 adults and 4 kids. The three closets were sufficient for our needs. The kids could lay in bed and watch the fireworks from EPCOT. I love it there!

I'm sorry to hear that you had a difficult start to your trip, I hope it improved. We had one of our best trips ever this week and last! I do know that there was a lot of volume at BCV with people having to stay extra nights because of the New England Blizzard. We met quite a few people who needed to extend their stay because they couldn't get flights home. Fortunately we missed the Blizzard last week and unfortunately had to come home Friday night and are preparing for more snow Sunday. We can't complain we missed it the first time. Anyway we had a fantastic trip and a super room. Swam once in SAB - Wed I think but it was way to cold for us. If any of you were the family by the quiet pool during the various nights - you are amazing! I shivered watching you guys.

Again, sorry the start to your trip wasn't great and I hope that it improved.

4PM check-in is standard, ands has been for quite a while, so I wouldn't expect my room to be ready any earlier.

As far as the lightbulbs etc. ...a call to Housekeeping/Engineering should take care of that sort of thing.

I must be incredibly lucky or not as particular as some folks, because I have yet to stay in a DVC resort that I found to be way under par! Any little issues I have encountered have always been handled quickly and efficiently. And I've never had a dirty room.

We stayed in a 2 bedroomed dedicated villa at the BCV in August for 2 weeks. We arrived at 6pm, although if we had arrived before 4pm I would have not expected the room to be ready. We were given all 3 of our requests for a room. On the third day 2 lightbulbs blew but they were replaced within 10 minutes. Also the plug on the lamp was broken and this was replaced straight away too. These are things that easily happen at home so am not complaining about them. We recieved many welcome homes from the staff who were all very friendly. I personally can't wait to go back to the BCV. I'm sorry you were unhappy with the start of your stay at the BCV but knowing that check in was not until 4pm and that they do store luggage for you so a day in a park would easily pass the time before being able to check in. I guess I just can't see the problem or reason to complain. I don't think this should put you off another visit to the BCV.
