We are headed down to Florida over Thanksgiving for our second usage of DVC. We went to Vero same time last year and loved it, so this may become an annual ritual.
When we bought into DVC, we did so knowing that our past history was such that we visited WDW every other year and did a beach type vacation in the off years, so making Vero our home resort was a good decision.
As mentioned earlier, we went to Vero for a week last Thanksgiving and absolutely loved it. This year would be our Disney World trip, but I couldn't imagine not also going to Vero. So we compromised and are going to the BVC's for four nights, and then down to Vero for four nights.
What I have just realized, is that since I booked this many, many months ago, I haven't given one second of thought to planning our days at Disney, and have only thought of sitting at the pool or beach at Vero. I figured I better get on the ball, and made some tentative plans and PS this morning for Disney. But my heart still lies with Vero. It has been a stressful year, I lost both my grandparents, both my husband and I have been diagnosed with different, but serious diseases, our teenage son has been a handful, etc., so just imaging sitting on a beach, drinking a special cocktail sounds like a dream come true.
We initially invited my father and step mother to join us at Vero in a studio room, so I booked it. They found out they were unable to come, so we offered it to my brother and his new wife. They cannot come, as she is a teacher and cannot get off work. We then offered it my sister and her family, but were told that they cannot afford to get there. We then offered it to our close friends, and they cannot go. I was beginning to wonder if we stunk or something. I cannot imagine someone offerering us their timeshare and turning it down
. Our final offer, before selling it, was offering it to another couple we are freindly with. We just found out they are going. So that dilemma has been solved, whew!
Now that we are down to something like 50 days, I am geting so excited!! Anyone else going to be there at Thanksgiving time?
