We are hoping to do a 2 bedroom next trip and would like to try BCV (home resort is VWL) I am wondering if we will have any trouble getting a 2 bedroom at 7 months? We are traveling the 3rd week of April which is when many of New England schools have vacation, but not Easter.

Thanks

You probably won't have a problem as long as you don't need the 2 queen beds in the second bedroom, opposed to the one bed and sleeper sofa.

I think you have at least a decent chance of getting a 2BR in April. I had originally booked a 1BR for our trip this past February 21-28. The inlaws decided to join us for 4 days, so I waitlisted for a 2BR for those days less than two months in advance. It came through pretty quickly. We were there between Presidents' Day and spring break, and it sounds like you'll be there shortly after spring break, so I'm guessing it would be similar.

Still, you should have a backup plan, like your home resort just in case I'm wrong. That was my first DVC trip, so maybe I just got lucky!

Make sure you make reservations at your home resort at 11 months just in case you have to go on a waiting list at 7 months. That way you won't worry too much about it. Just switch over the reservation when you call at 7 months.

Have fun planning.

Well, when you say New England in this case, you are pretty much referring only to Massachusetts, altho Maine schools are also off this week (both celebrate Patriots' Day) - so 6mm ppl in Mass and 1.3mm in Maine. Meanwhile CT, NH, RI and VT schools are not generally off that week (totalling ~6.1mm ppl). Okay, so more than half of New England, but just barely. And of course this week is vacation for only the Public schools, as the Private schools in these state often go out in March.

So we in Mass and Maine are the exception taking vacation this week, which makes for less crowded resorts for those of us fortunate enough to get away for that time (but still more or less crowded flights).

I concur with the two previoous posters: make a ressie at your home resort at 11 months and switch it to BCV at 7 if possible.

And remember that there may be BCV members doing the same-reserving at 11 months, then at 7 mos. switching over to another resort. That's what we're doing (not in April though). Currently I have ressies at BCV, then 7 months before DS and I go, I'll try to switch to BWV. The domino effect!

Remember even if it is not available, get on the waiting list. I made ressie at 11 months to my home resort (BWV) but i wanted to stay at the BCV but i had to wait for the 7 month window, which it was 2 weeks ago, (i am staying during Thanksgiving week) but there were no avail at the BCV so i got on the waiting list.
Surpsrise, surpsrise, found out today that we got transfered to BCV for the whole stay!! That took less than 2 weeks. I am so excited!!
so, alot of DVC members take advantage of making ressies at the 11 month window at the home resort and will change around at the 7 month window.
