Given the free dining promo....had to upgrade to a pool view for the fd discount. Now price-wise I think that BC lagoon view is about $600+ more than the std at BWI and $200+ more than the Poly. I've never stayed at any of these but am really excited about the Beach Club. However given these prices and changes in room categories, proximity to parks options etc what are your opinions! Thanks!

Sounds as though you're excited about BC and its pool. I would stick with it. GREAT resort! I prefer it to BWI, although not to the Polynesian.
If you can stay at the Polynesian and all the construction mess is winding down (?) I could see getting REALLY pumped for a stay there :teeth:
Good luck with your decision.

I prefer bwi and poly to bc. we just arent big bc/yc fans. However you're excited about it and the pool/lagoon view is usually a nice one so enjoy it.

Thanks for your response. The construction is supposed to be completed before we are there (Sept). I've gotten familiar with the BC planning this trip but not so much the Poly, other than I've gone there for dinner so I know how amazing the lobby area is! It looks like a wonderful resort.

Yes, I am excited about it but I don't want to feel like I've gotten tricked somehow into upgrading the rooms, if that makes sense. I think BWI would be fun and busy, not sure if my family members might prefer to have a calmer atmosphere to go back to at night.

You're welcome. I would stick with BC if you're going to spend a lot of time at Epcot in the evenings and/or at DHS. If you want to spend a lot of time (particularly evenings) at the MK, then you might switch gears and book the Polynesian. Will give you something new to research and obsess over  (I say this with complete respect and empathy).

I would say that at bc view can be important so I wouldn't feel tricked. it seems to me that there are a lot of pretty bad views there with standard rooms. We love BWI and its our first choice when staying in the epcot area. The poly is our first choice in the mk area. So if i were making the call I suppose I'd go with BWI or poly. If you prefer the idea of bc over bwi or poly then I wouldn't switch. I understand feeling tricked but you are getting the better room and you can call back frequently to check on availability. things do open up.

I almost booked BWI, but the deal breaker for me was the advisory about the parking. Im not a fan of the transportation system as I park hop every day and have every minute of the day scheduled. Not being able to park a rental conveniently would not work for me. So I chose the Poly (after booking BC, then cancelling!)

YES!! respect and empathy, lol, this may just kill me!! all the choices!! and the fact that if I switch dates there is FD available at YC....

Yes that's why I was wondering if the views are as important at BWI or Poly. I know it seems the BC views are a big deal.

We will not have a car so that's not an issue for us. I am sure you will have a great time at the Poly!

How old are the kids?

and

Where do you plan to spend most of your time? MK or Epcot/DHS?

BC is not as convenient to the MK as MK resorts are. (I know - I'm being Mr. Obvious!)

Stormalong Bay is awesome. However, some parents with multiple young children find it hard to keep track of them at SB. It does meander quite a bit. Also, the slide requires leaving the pool area and crossing the walkway to Epcot in order to climb to the top. Something to think about.

BC rooms are smaller than the rooms at the Poly.

You need to request a full size balcony, if that is important to you. Some rooms have small standing room only balconies.

The BC is my favourite Epcot area resort. I love the atmosphere. WE love the 2 - 5 minute walk to Epcot. We love Stormalong Bay. The dining options are amazing thanks to practically living in World Showcase plus all the options available at the other Epcot resorts as well.

Personally, I wouldn't switch.

Enjoy your amazing pool view at the BC!

I have a son will be 3.5 and daughter 8. And your last sentence is what I am so excited about -- Epcot atmosphere, walk to Epcot, SAB, etc.

I was able to reserve an earlier week with the FD for a garden view, at Yacht club. Is there a big difference b/w BC and YC?

The YC is pretty much the same. It is at the end of the resort that is further from the Epcot IG. It feels a little more 'adult' in atmosphere, but is very nice. On the up side, almost all the rooms have full balconies. The down side is that the there is not much in the line of quick service dining here, you have to go over to the BC. Not really a big deal though.

All things being equal, I would go with BC. However, if you get a better rate/date I would easily switch to the YC.

I've got about $200 less for the YC option with std room/free dining, but it includes an additional night.

Personally I've only every stayed at YC and LOVED it. If it's cheaper than BC, go with that. The decor is nicer and you still get storm along bay and it's not really that much further, depending on where your room is

I had a similar situation today. I was dead set on a forest view for BC but it wasn't available for me. It would have been an extra $1000 for me to up grade to water view. I couldn't justify that so I switched to standard view BWI. I'm glad to see so many people that love BWI. It makes me feel better about my decision!

Sounds as though you're excited about BC and its pool.

That's reassuring! Thanks!! Looks beautiful!

Sounds good to me! I would take it!
Another plus is our original plans included our daughter missing a week of school. This would be the week right before school starts, $200 cheaper all in, with an extra day.
