We have a split stay scheduled but are on the fence of the whole splittting the vacation thing. We are a family of four ME DH DD(14) and DD(12), celebrating my DD14 birthday. Which one and why?

Although I've only stayed at the Poly, I did investigate BC with a room tour last trip.

I stay at the Poly for convenience (we are an MK family), but mostly for committment to theme. I love the music piped in to the pool, the "Mahalos" & "Alohas", the restaurants, the lobby activities that bring the islands right there.

When I toured the BC, it was nice; but it felt a bit sterile for my family. I also felt like it was a Bay Head, NJ bed and breakfast, which is great; except that I can easily get that at home (I have family that lives near the Jersey shore). I can't get that Polynesian feel anywhere near me like at Disney.

Good luck with your decision! Sounds like a win-win to me.

Well I see from your signature that you've stayed at Boardwalk and Swan, so I don't need to tell you how great the Epcot resort area is. I also see you've stayed at GF, so I don't need to tell you how great it is to stay on the monorail. So.....my personal opinion......we don't really care for split stays unless we're staying for a long period of time, like one week at each resort. Having said that, I can see your reasoning behind staying at Poly for the proximity to MK, and then staying at BC for the proximity to both Epcot and MGM.

If I had to choose just one resort, I would say given the ages of your kids to stay at BC because of everything in that area from the Epcot countries for meals, to the boardwalk for meals and entertainment, ESPN Club, surrey bikes, easily watch Illuminations and/or Fantasmic every night if you want. Unless of course if your kids love MK the most, then I might tend to favor Poly.

Those 2 resorts are my favorites and I can see why you'd choose both of them. We tend to rotate between the Epcot resorts and the monorail resorts. This September we are trying CR tower. It keeps things interesting to switch around.

Good luck!

Tough decision. Two great resorts. To me, F&W festival at Epcot would give BC the tie breaker.

I'm going against the grain and suggesting the Poly. Ive always been a huge MK fan though, and monorail fan, even when I was your kid's ages. The shared busses at BC would drive me insane and I can't believe they share it with non Disney hotels (swan/dolphin) for the kind of money being paid.

I love the entire MK area, and WL, Contemporary, GF and Poly are all so picturesque.

I made my decision and we are going with the Beach Club. We have a water view AP discount for the trip. I hope i made the right decision! off to change my itinerary a tad.

Good choice! I too vacillated back and forth between the BC and POLY and ended up choosing the BC - because of the F&W Festival. I lvoe both the boardwalk, EPCOT and MK so it is tough. I will be there at the BC towards the end of your trip there - If you see someone who looks like me with a little girl a few months older than the one in the picture below, that will be me with my DGD - My DS - bald and bearded will also be there with my darling DDIL - short, long hair and wearing a skirt! Say hello!
