Bazinga! It was LEGEN-wait for it-DARY COMPLETED

I have only read the first page of your TR, but I know I am going to love it. How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory are my husband and my favorite comedies!! We quote them all the time too! In fact, our 6 year old has her own cheoreography to the BBT theme song & my ring tone on my phone is a recording of her singing "Soft Kitty". I can always tell when my husband has had a difficult day at work because he will come home and watch his favorite episode "Slapsgiving" of HIMYM to make him laugh :rotfl2: Can't wait to read about your trip and see all of your quotes!!:yay:

Sounds like a great night for the two of you- preview of a trip to come (soon)?

I can't do the teacups or Astro Orbitor or nighttime EMH. I'm more of an early kind of girl. I think the latest I have stayed in a park is 10:30. Which is unfortunate, because the parks are so very pretty at night.

I think it was when I went solo in 2009 that I realized how much fun the parks can be during late night EMH. I miss that AK evening EMH is gone, because that one was the absolute best!

I just read your whole TR! Everything looks wonderful! Can't wait for more!

:Welcome: Thanks for joining in!

I love Slapsgiving, but my favorite episode is the one where Marshall gets the Fighting Hens to play Auld Lang Syne at the airport for Lily. My favorite BBT episode is the Christmas one where Penny gives Sheldon the napkin that Leonard Nemoy wipes his face on.

ANother favorite line of mine: "We should buy a bar!"

Don't ask me how, but Sweetie and I got up early enough the next morning for a trip to Hollywood Studios. We walked downstairs as a family and proceeded to walk towards DHS. No breakfast that morning, as we were planning on cupcakes for breakfast at Starring Rolls.

We stopped for a picture of the kids:

June_11_2011_00002223.jpg

Boo looks unhappy. She wanted to get going, not stop for pictures.

From the Friendship boat dock

Now, I'm not sure why, but we went over to the Friendship boat dock. We didn't take the boat, though. We walked. Perhaps it was taking too long. Or I may have wanted to detour to take pictures. Apparently, I at least used the time to take pictures:

Looking towards our room.

We reached Hollywood Studios around 8:30am. This was Star Wars Weekend--the last one, and we wanted to be sure to see the park open.

Only one problem: the park was already open!

To which Dan says, "Did you know it was opening at 8?"

NO! I did not!

I was embarrassed. Apparently, they opened early because they expected a large crowd for the last weekend. Tour Guide Mike did not warn me. :(

And we hopped into queue

June_11_2011_00002266.jpg

He was working!

We rode the ride and headed to my favorite place for breakfast at Hollywood Studios: Starring Rolls Cafe. It's my favorite, because it's the one place int eh world I feel it is perfectly acceptable to have cupcakes for breakfast! We had a couple and divided them.

The problem with the place is that it is always busy, but this morning we grabbed a table over at the Brown Derby. We weren't alone.

June_11_2011_00002269.jpg

I'm thinking of a Red Velvet cupcake right now!

Famous Butterfinger Cupcake.

Breakfast finished, we had some DHS touring to do!

I keep seeing all these cupcakes in the TRs I am reading and now I am drooling.....:rotfl: This will be a must have for our next trip.

I'm currently in bed but those cupcakes would give me reason for getting up and getting over to DHS just to get one of those and leave!! The good thing is, that's actually possible for me to do lol.

Beautiful shot of the sunrise over the BC!!! And I love that funky bird.

I don't know if it is true or not, but I have heard that the butterfly topiary is no longer there at the BC entrance. Wonder where I could find out this info for sure. ;)

Well, it looks like you didn't make out too badly with the Toy Story Wait time or FP return time. Must be the Star Wars Weekend Effect.

Yum, cupcakes for breakfast. I have Starring Rolls on the radar for the 8th grade class trip- I hear the sandwiches are humongous and can't wait to try one of the cupcakes.

I keep telling my husband we need to do the cupcake for breakfast on our next trip...it IS vacation after all. I think he wants to act all healthy, but once he's there he WILL give in!:lmao:

Starring Rolls is a must-do for our summer trip, that's for sure!

You know, if you are trying to convince me to move to Orlando, you are doing a good job of it.

 No butterfly topiary?!? I think I'll have to check that out this summer.

I didn't do bad with TSM. It was much, much worse later on.

I love Starring Rolls. It's one of the few places in DIsney to get a good cup of coffee, too.

I keep telling my husband we need to do the cupcake for breakfast on our next trip...it IS vacation after all. I think he wants to act all healthy, but once he's there he WILL give in!:lmao:

There are healthy options there. He can do healthy while you have him watch. ::yes:: :rotfl:

Oh, I wish I had some of those cupcakes now!

Me too!

Having finished our breakfast of champions, we headed on to Sheldon's favorite Hollywood Studios Ride: Star Tours. As we got there, the line was not terribly long. We got there as Jedi Training was finishing up, which meant we just beat the crowds to the ride.

June_11_2011_00002282.jpg

I don't envy the kids fighting him.

June_11_2011_00002288.jpg

Chewbaca was signing autographs outside, as well. The line over there was enormous.

Not long after that, the Jedi Training Academy was over, so everyone went backstage, which apparently also meant they needed to go next to the queue for Star Tours. We had a close up interaction with a Storm Trooper, which Sheldon absolutely loved!

June_11_2011_00002292.jpg

We finished the ride and headed towards something we had never done: the Backlot Tour. Of course, we had to go through some photoops first:

Indiana Jones? Nah.

We left the Backlot Tour and did a little walking through the park before we left:

June_11_2011_00002375.jpg

I think they are so cool!

We left the park and walked back to the resort. I took some pictures of the scenery, and I'll just leave all of you with that for now:

Back in the room, we got some water and settled in for a nap.

Coming up. . .What's a Trip to the World Showcase Without a Grey Goose Slushie?!?

I discovered all the props at the BS Studio Tour on my solo a couple of years ago.....MUST get my kids in there as it is SO cool! I absolutely loved Davy Jones' organ....

.

I could have stood and looked at that organ for hours! It was so awesome!

After a short nap, we got ready to head over to Epcot for the evening. In thinking of Epcot, I had only one solidified plan. . .so procur myself a Grey Goose Slush. I can't say whether I like the Grey Goose better than the Grand Marnier. I've only had the Lemon Grey Goose, but step one for the night? Mission Accomplished!

June_11_2011_00002405.jpg

Ah, little cup of ice, lemonade, and vodka, how I dream of you right now.

Having my drink in hand, we headed over to Japan, where we had reservations for

June_11_2011_00002406.jpg

Now, the going complaint here on the DisBoards is that if you have a decent Hibachi grill near your home, then Teppan Edo is nothing special. Well, the nearest decent Hibachi is in Fayetteville, NC, a good 1.25 hour drive. So for us, Teppan Edo was very special. And without a doubt, the best meal we had on this trip. I know our cook was using canned jokes, but it was still corny enough to be funny for us.

The obligatory volcano onion.

Waistbands tighter (except me, who wisely wore a dress), we headed over to Great Britain. We love having our pictures made at the phone booths!

Sheldon rightly thought it was too hot to be closed up in there!

We made our way over to shop in the toy shop, where we saw Pooh and Tigger:

We originally would have stayed for fireworks, but we were yet again tired, and the kids wanted to watch the movie at the beach. We left in time to watch a street artist:

June_11_2011_00002512.jpg

Coming up. . .never got on a bus or boat, but what a wonderful day!

I think it is so awesome the way they do the street art with water!!!
We agree, we love any reason to eat at the hibachi!!:thumbsup2

We left Epcot probably sooner than I would have liked, but these long days were finally defeating us. In our upcoming trip, Sweetie and I are spending a couple of mornings in the water parks hopefully on a tube in the lazy rivers. We went back to the room. We apparently let the kids swim a little because I took pictures of SAB and Boo has her swimsuit on.

June_11_2011_00002528.jpg

More playing with falling water. I love the theming of SAB!

While Dan and the kids were swimming, I captured more pictures:

A little blurry, but you get the effect

June_11_2011_00002597.jpg

LOL, ghost people!

This was a perfect day. And you know what? We never left the resort area. We never boarded a bus, never took a boat. We stayed around the Epcot resorts area all day and although we never really took a true rest day, I remember this day well because it seems that it was a calmer than normal day at Disney.

Coming up: Cupcakes for breakfast again?

The next morning, we got up to make it to Rope Drop at Epcot. All along, we were having breakfast at the Beach Club Marketplace if we weren't on the way to Hollywood Studios. That morning, we walked over to the Boardwalk.

June_12_2011_00002615.jpg

It was nice walking with so few people.

Looking toward the Yacht Club

Dan had a semi-healthy breakfast of a danish and fruit. One thing I liked here was you could turn a danish, fruit, and drink into a quick service option

Sheldon wasn't as healthy in his selection:

June_12_2011_00002627.jpg

That's apparently 3 CS meals, since it looks like 3 bananas

June_12_2011_00002628.jpg

Stinky's Mickey ear cupcake. Minus the Oreos. He had already dismantled poor Mickey

I said this before in this trip report, but I will say it again. The sodas at the Boardwalk Bakery tasted off to me. It was really bitter and therefore not that great. I thought the first time was perhaps not a typical day. It was very disappointing to get all of those large sodas and then not want them.

We headed on, looking around the resort.

June_12_2011_00002659.jpg

Still my favorite part of the trip--getting into the World Showcase with only a few people

June_12_2011_00002662.jpg

We were just there!

June_12_2011_00002665.jpg

I tell you, ducks were everywhere!

So pretty!

June_12_2011_00002676.jpg

Before long, we were at Rope Drop. I am sad that this is no longer being done, but I certainly can understand why Disney does not want people in the mad rush they typically are in!

June_12_2011_00002702.jpg

I love being greeted at Sunshine Seasons!

Having finished our early morning, we knew it was not going to be a long day, but it was still a great day!

More playing with falling water. I love the theming of SAB!

June_11_2011_00002529.jpg

I love Disney resort pools at night....:cloud9:

June_11_2011_00002535.jpg

This one would have been beautiful without that trashcan. . .

On the contrary I think it adds interest: did you know there are over 2,000 styles of trash can within WDW?.....:rotfl:

...

That's because Disney is secretly introducing "Beverly" into its drink line-up.

:lmao:

So what is the protocol now?? Is there no "rope drop" at any park anymore?.....I'm confused!

I missed a TON of updates!!!! I'm thinking of Yacht Club for if my parents come to visit in Sept. Actually, they are thinking 2 nights at a Universal resort and 2 at Yacht Club..I can live with that :)
