Bay Lake Tower refurb dates

I read many pages here and cannot see a clear answer about this yet. What’s the likelihood of getting a refurbished two-bedroom lake view room in end of May? I am not very familiar of the south side or north side of BLT, or even number vs. odd number side. My understanding is that the higher levels are finished? But I assume that lake view will be in both higher and lower levels? So is it like a 50-50 chance?

We were there last week and got a 2 Bedroom lock off Lake view (preferred view now) on the 12th floor that was refurbished and I did not put in any requests or anything. I would say 50/50 sounds about right.

I would say a little better than 50/50. All of the ones on the south side are done and it sounds like they are working on the lower floors on the north side which would take out some Lake View Studios, so the majority of rooms left would be refurbished.

They are going by sections and floors so there is a combination of room types and views down periodically. Right now, all floors on the South Side are done. The upper floors on the North side are being worked on and the lower floors on the North Side have not been touched.

I am here now staying on the inside of the curve. It appears to me that the farthest north rooms are being worked on. It looks like about floor 5 and up just based on whether there is furniture on the balcony or not.



Edit to add: while checking in I made a specific room request for my September trip. I was told all rooms WILL done. Not SHOULD be or MAY be. I thought that was interesting.

Let's hope they are right. We go in November in a 2 br dedicated. Really can't wait to see the refurb

Does the 'South Tower' include the south half of the center and the 'North Tower' the north half of the center? Or is it just that the center will be the last section to be refurbished and thus its not mentioned a lot?

We were just there in March. At that time they were still working on the south tower. Our room was 7623, which is in the dead center. It was right next to the start of renovated rooms.

Thank you for the reply. We have a mid-summer trip in a 3-bedroom grand villa theme park view and were hoping to have a refurbished room like I am sure most people are.

Yes, we were there in March too, and you could tell it was right in the middle of the building because the carpeting in the hallway abruptly changed.

We have a preferred studio stay booked at the end of July, mostly because I am in love with the refurbed rooms.
I see that a theme-park view has opened up for the dates we are there. If my main priority is to stay in a refurbed room, do I hurt or help my chances of getting one if I make the switch? I am sorry but I have never stayed there and have no concept of where any of the rooms are other than the theme park rooms face MK and the preferred are higher up and mostly face the lake......I think.

If you request North side even numbered rooms, you'll face the lake but look to your left is MK and you will still be able to see fireworks, just not straight on. Room # ends in 06 and 08 are closer to the MK view, definitely not bad. The furthest one should be room # ending in 14. That's further into the lake view, away from MK.
