Bay Lake Tower refurb dates

If I’m a blue card holder, but I’m staying at a regular deluxe, can I access Top of the World? If yes, can I bring any non members who may be with me?

The last two times I went no one asked me for ID. I rode the elevator up, got a drink at the bar and went outside to watch fireworks because inside is for the paid event.
I believe the rule was/is the member and 6 guests are allowed access, but again, I haven’t seen it enforced in awhile.

Has anyone gotten calls about being moved? We haven’t, but our trip is in a few days and wanted to see if any last minute issues.

I'm hoping that no news is good news. Any recent reports of people receiving the dreaded call and being bumped from BLT?

We have a TPV studio booked for next month. It would be cool if we got a refurbed room. Either way, looking forward to what the completed rooms look like.

I’m not sure of the current rules but previously you had to stay somewhere on property even the all stars and you and whoever was on your reservation could go up

Except for certain days of the year. Last year on New Years Eve 12/31 and the day before 12/30, they were giving out wristbands to go to the top. Even for both shows. You were only allowed the number of bands on your reservation.

I have a GV and studio booked for next week. I am nervous about getting “THE” call but nothing yet.
My son works on the MK ferries and he says the top floors of BLT are lit up all night long and he can see in when they are taking the ferry to dry dock at 2:00am. He can not tell if the rooms are complete or not, or if anyone is in there working.

Can you also let us know if you got a refurbed room? We have a 2Bed TPV room reserved for mid January and I'm really hopeful the top few floors will be completed by then. Since you're in a GV, I'm assuming they have to be done to not move you or else they had low bookings for the GVs!

The reports from my son make it sound like the top floors, if not finished, are being worked on. He is not allowed to have his phone out at work otherwise I would ask him to snap a few photos.

Very curious about when they will begin to open the refurbed GVs so they can continue working around to the other side. We will be checking in to a standard view GV on Christmas Eve. I am not optimistic that the South Tower GVs will be open by then, even if they are complete and ready to go. Not getting my hopes up so we won't be disappointed, but it would be an awesome surprise!

It looks like floors 7 and above are being worked on. Yesterday and today they unloaded a TON of furniture so I’m guessing they are trying to finish some of the upper grand villas that already had the Murphy bed and tvs placed.
The south elevators are out of service for guests so one has to go to the north elevators and then walk back if staying in villas towards the south. The bridge is open.
We did not get bumped to another resort BUT we did get placed in a standard view room on the second floor rather than Lake view (which would have been at least the 3rd floor). I didn’t ask to get points back since I would have no way to use them before they expired.
You can hear drills and things during the daytime but it hasn’t been bad.

We just left BLT, we heard a little noise from the loading dock, but nothing really with construction. I was concerned we might lose power or water with the work, but really aside from the one set of elevators shut down, didn’t notice anything.

If you ask for some points back, I think I've heard of them allowing another year of banking sometimes when people got downgraded. Of course YMMV

One of the side benefits of Bay Lake is they have the lowest dues in WDW

Just back from a shorter stay at BLT. Had requested high floor/ north side, and were accommodated (lake view was booked) and honestly would have had no idea that there was construction going on throughout the south side. I think that a tower design lends itself much more easily to shutting off half at a time. I asked about the room art since I have a soft spot for Mickey in the rocket but the CMs had no idea where they were headed.
