They are still closed - and it does affect your stay I have been stuck waiting 2 elevators at busy times. I am enjoying BLT more than I ever thought I would but I will have to try it with a 1Br and working elevators on both sides to judge.
We go in November. Sure hope they are open!
The refurbishment is supposed to be done this month. They should be open in November.

Did they move the CM desk?
In your 2nd picture, where the small pool is outside, wasn’t the guest service desk where the furniture is? The two smaller desks on either side are bell services and concierge.
Sorry, this is my first time at BLT, if there was a big desk there, it’s gone now. They are checking people in at what you described as the concierge’s desk. Bell services is still at the other little desk. They are mostly walking around with iPads. It doesn’t surprise me as isn’t this what they did at Polynesian tower.

I had very modest expectations, it was probably the last resort I would’ve tried, it was only because of the last-minute trip and that member services was able to grab me a room.
