Just when I thought I had planned for all major obstacles on our first trip with our daughter (as much as you can plan for a trip with an infant), I thought of a new situation. Those of you who went with 2-3 month olds, how did you bathe them while in WDW? Our trips are late May and mid-June so I'm sure she'll be sweaty and gross and will need regular baths, but without a baby bathtub/changing area, how do you bathe an infant that young, since they can't sit up to sit in the sink or regular bathtub?

I'd just take her in the tub with me, but that what I do with my baby at home anyway.

We didn't take either of our girls to WDW that young, but we did travel a few times. On our 1st trip with our oldest, she was right at 2 months. I held her over the sink while DH washed her. We both got very wet and DD was an unhappy baby.

Then when DD#2 came along, a friend recommended a "ramp" that worked perfectly. We bought ours at Target, but it looked like this only with a cute Pooh print: http://www.bcfdirect.com/IWStoreBCF...ection_Id=9613&pcount=&pn=1&Product_Id=334383 Its flat enough to pack in a suitcase and is perfect. Its mesh so it sort of sinks in and cradles the baby. You fill the tub with an inch or two or water and lay the baby in the ramp and its a lot like having your infant tub at home. And until your baby is big enough to try to roll out of it, its pretty secure, so its not like trying to wrestle a wet baby.

Good Luck

the sink & placed a rolled hand towel under her head.........we also used clorox wipes b4 we put her in....but she was only 7wks...she can be held in the tub now at 16wks.

We had a "blow up baby tub" when DS was an infant. It was a gift and I have no clue where it came from but you might could do a search and find one. It would be perfect for travel. We too however, just took DS into the tub with one of us most of the time. He loved it and it was easy.

First time we travelled with DD I took her in the tub with me. DH was there to hand her in and out of the tub and help out if I needed it. She loved kicking in the water. Make sure the towel is handy!!

That young, a good sponge bath will probably still do the trick. We put a pad of fluffy towels under her, and used washclothes full of warm soapy water to wash/rinse her off really well.

We also used the sink a few times, especially if it wasn't warm enough to do the sponge bath, which gets a little drafty rather quickly. Since the sink is so slippery when wet and she was so little, we lined it with a hand towel or two to keep her from slipping down.

And you can always take her in with you...bath or shower, although I found a bath with a "teeny tiny" a little easier...mine were a little squirmy for the shower :)

My 6 week old loves the shower. I just take a small towel in with me so that she's not slippery and it's not too hard to wash with one hand. She loves the warm water on her body and she's much happier than in the bath. I have also used the inflatable baths for my kids and they're not bad.

I did get this new thing though for the bath that I love. It's a cushion that sinks in the water and cradles them. It means that I can put her in the tub and reach for the soap and stuff without having to hang on to her at all moments. How I wish I had this for all my kids! I even use it for my older DDs when washing their hair in the tub. It keeps them elevated enough, so the water isn't in their face, but their hair is in the water. When you're done, you just hang it in the bath and it dries quickly. http://www.bath-toys.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=130&cat=6&page=1

Have fun! I'll be there in a few weeks with my newest DD who will be 2 mos. Can't wait to introduce her to the Mouse! :earsboy:

I would go with the inflatible tub also. I loved mine when my boys were babies! I loved this tub because then I never had to put my baby into someone elses sink or tub. I am a germ freak and was - still am - worried about what germs lurk in the drain! I know I have seen these tubs somewhere cheaper by a different name but I can't remember where, maybe Target? Best of luck and enjoy your trip! Chris.

My DS had his first shower when he was 9 days old... He loves them still at 2.5... So just start taking them in the shower now and it will be so much easier at night... Also you can wash the baby and pass them out to someone else and then you have time to relax while they are getting dressed.

For me it is killing 2 birds with one stone...

We always showered our children. My 4yo still showers with my DH (nice thing about having a boy!).

Sounds like the easiest thing in June will be to take her with me during my showers/baths. Now I just have to figure out what is easier to bring along in May, a blow-up tub or that sling-type thing. I'll be travelling with all my female relatives only, and while I like them and all, not too sure I'd want them with me while I take a shower. Thanks for all the tips!

Just put a little bit of water in the tub and get in with her! You'll both have a great time! For one that young, you might want to spread a bath towel on the bottom of the tub so it's not quite so slippery. Also, either sit with your back to the faucet and/or be sure that you turned off the cold water last (so that the faucet isn't hot to the touch)

Have a blast!

Since you'll have extended family with you one option would be to wear a swimsuit into the tub - you can then hang it to dry. Then you don't have to worry about how to hand her out!
