Bath & Body Works Candles?

They have an even burning pool so you basically use all of the product. (BTW...If your candle does NOT burn evenly you can return it.)

Really?

I have a couple I should take back then, as they do NOT burn evenly. :(

What makes some of them burn so well, and others not?

I thought that with the 3-wick system they would burn great, but I have some that the flame on one of the wicks will actually go out. :(

I love their scents (Winter is my favorite!) but I'm getting discouraged to buy more since they don't all burn well.

Yep....We were told that as a selling point. (They may have changed policy. I haven't worked there in about four years.)

Yes they are supposed to burn completely evenly.

You have to let the entire top melt though for it to work. If it's only lit for a little while you will have the tunneling because only the wax by the wicks are melting.:)

My problem with candles (including Yankee candles and scentsy) is that my house is open concept so the main room is large has a high ceiling. The candle smell does not carry through. If you are sitting right near it, you can smell it, but otherwise I can't tell it is lit.

Are BBW candles stronger?

I think they are stronger. I use one upstairs and one down because I like the stronger scent, but I could certainly get away with using one for the whole house.

I generally leave them lit all evening, say from 5:00 - 10:00 p.m.

I know that lighting them and then extinguishing them shortly after doesn't make for an "even burn" so I don't do that.

I sometimes don't notice that one of the wicks has gone out though. I even stopped trimming the wicks before I burned them, because if I trimmed them even just slightly on top it seems that the wicks would go out even more then. :(

I have only had trouble with the more recent ones I've bought, like in the last year or so. Before that I never had that problem so I can't figure it out. :(

Argh, I just knew I should not have opened this thread! Now I am plotting a trip to pick some up. I'll try to hold out for a sale - how often do they have specials? There are so many good sounding scents online! A neighbor gave us a vanilla candle that smells so good just unlit.

I love fall and plan to pick out something to make the house smell great. I am so over the hot weather and can't wait for fall and the season change!

ohhhh you people :rotfl: I had to go investigate as I love Yankee candles, but some just don't have the "throw" as they say and fall scents (and the season) are my favorite.

I found the nicest sales lady and struck up a conversation. You know the kind of conversation that embarasses the rest of your family who moan "oh Mom" whenever you open your mouth with a stranger.

BUT I was alone :dance3: and I've found these nice conversations can really pay off. I told her I was part of this message board for Disney lovers, and I find some great tips there - and there was a discussion about how many have come to love B&BW candles. So we went on to discuss scents, etc. and then she whispered that tomorrow starts a great sale on the larger jars - 2 for $22, 3 for $33. AND if I got something tonight, I would get a survey for $10 off! Then she gave me a coupon for a free little jar so I could "ring" it up and get the coupon. LOVE this gal! And yes, I will go back!

Loved the pumpkin pecan waffles or something like that. She said that Leaves was their most popular - so that was my sample. Fun!

So what are some more of your other favorite scents?

Winter... It's just called Winter lol.

I like Tiki Beach for the summer. It smells like suntan lotion and warm sand. Wonderful. :goodvibes

Right now I'm burning Farmstand Apple, and my entire room smells like an orchard of fresh, delicious Fall apples. Yummy!

I like BBW candles better than Yankee candles personally - I like the fresh scents that BBW offers and I think the scent is not as overwhelming as Yankee's. The candles will last longer if you use a candle warmer instead of burning the wick :thumbsup2

Sounds wonderful! I'll have to go back now for every season

I've never tried that. Another thing to think about - thanks!

Can't wait to take my coupon back this weekend!
