Basking in the Glow of the (not so) Creepy Clown -2/11-Pictures, Final Thoughts, PTR!

HI! My name is Jennifer......and I'm a puke catcher! ......LOL!

It prevents a mess though. I was telling my friend a few weeks about how I did it when Claire recently got sick...and she was amazed. She said she would get sick herself if she did that.

I haven't been on Star Tours since 1999. We tried to get to it last trip, but ran out of time.
So is the Block party Bash ending at DHS already? I was a little confused on that post. We saw part of it once, and Claire did enjoy it.

Hi Brook! The picture of Henry asleep in his stroller and holding his three buses pulled on my heartstrings! I have pictures of our DS as a little guy doing the same thing with his favorite trucks. I think that is why I love seeing your Henry photos.... they bring back good memories of a little boy that is now a huge boy! :goodvibes
Your photos of Star Tours will be great to have so you can compare the before and after when you go in May.

I love the pics of Henry with the ice cream! Too cute!!

Pat and I chatted about a number of things...one of them, and I haven't a CLUE how we got on this subject, but it was kids throwing up. :rotfl2: And we both are "puke catchers". When a kid starts to go, instinctivly we reach out our hands in attempts to catch what we can so they don't get it everywhere. I never truly mean to do this, and often regret doing it...but I do. Anyone else out there want to admit you are a puke catcher???

My little guy is only 15 months old and we had our first puke incident not that long ago . . . and I am totally a puke catcher!!! Didn't think about it, just instinctivly stuck out my hand. Innocent bystanders were quite impressed!

Brook, the new Disney Junior shows start on 2/14/11. Lexi is excited. She really likes the new Pirate show and keeps asking when she can see it.

As always I loved reading your update, Brook! What a lovely break for me from grading papers. :goodvibes

I haven't seen any animators working at those desks since the early 1990's! Glad to see them back at work.

The pictures with Lotso and Henry are very cute even if Lotso is evil. LOL!

I had to laugh over your comment about carrying wet wipes until Henry is a teenager -- yes, you will because I am still carrying wet wipes for Chelsea and Connor.

Ah, I adore the sleeping Henry clutching his buses.

I am not a puke catcher -- I jump back about six feet when it comes.

Great pictures from Star Tours! I am very excited about the May 20th opening. I wonder what the queue will look like...

Gabriel had his whole head up in my business when I told him LOTSO was at DHS!!! He loves that mean old bear:confused3 He broke out into full teeth showing grin. He said that LOTSO was alot bigger than his plush LOTSO : )

I am thinking about staying at the Dolphin in May. I have a ressie on hold at the VWL but now that Gabriel is nine (going on 10 in May)....I think we may get more out of DHS and Epcot than we could in the past. Being within walking distance would be a plus.

Still not ever sure if our trip is still a go yet but I am crossing fingers that we can swing it:cool2:

Hope it cooled down for your trip....I can't stand to be so hot - yuk.

WOW you did a lot!

Though LOTSO looks like he is choking Henry if you ask me. :lmao:

Nothing like little boys and a mickey bar. I should still carry wipes. I have them in the car, in the luggage but not in the purse. I should. Eric still needs them. BIG time!

How fun that you saw Pat again but oh that bus wait does not sound fun at ALL!

Great great pictures, I am always in awe of the detail you capture with at toddler in tow, sleeping or not. Eric didn't train until he was almost 4. We had to do guerrilla training. Meaning I kept him naked all weekend. His issue was going "exposed", he had to get over that feeling of the open air. Once he did, he trained on everything, at once. A long weekend but it was done and nary an accident since.

Brook, you always have the best pictures! I'm sure you've said before, but I can't remember...what kind of camera do you use?

I've had that earring problem on RNR more than once...ouch!

If I make it to WDW in March, I'll probably be with one of my little sisters (not particularly little anymore...this one is 28!). But who knows if it'll actually happen; I'm not sure if even I can justify trips on either side of February -- it's such a short month, after all!

Great updates!!!!!

I know I have some comments but I don't remember them all now... maybe it's the... oh nevermind. :smokin: :rotfl::rotfl:

I do appreciate all the pictures you take. I always want to but I think we are always rushing from one place to another. :confused3

Henry is TOO CUTE!

I need sleep... but I will TRY to get back here and re-read your posts so I can post what I wanted to. :goodvibes

So much to comment on Brook- agian a update chock full of good stuff. I am beat though and need to get up early. I"ll be back tomorrow to read more carefully and reply. meantime, have a great day!!

Catching up! Glad you enjoyed the Lotso meet. That's cute about his "story" of how he got to work there. hehe Thanks for all the Star Tours pictures too! I never got around to riding that :rolleyes1 so it was cool to see what it actually looked like in there.

I also liked the pics of the Swan/Dolphin. I was just reading an article in Celebrations magazine about those resorts and had been thinking about googling some pictures. Now I don't have to. :)

I loved all your DHS pictures and seeing that gorgeous Florida sky and the palm trees makes me miss it even more.

It looks like you had a great day so far. I could look at pictures of Henry all day. The one with Lotso was adorable, so was the one with Manny and the one with him sleeping holding the busses was just so precious.

I can't imagine holding a bus up like that lady with the stroller or the other people. I just wouldn't do that.

I can't wait to read more!!

I can't believe that bus stop lady either! My biggest fear is holding up a bus with my big double stroller :scared1:

Great update! Loved the pic of Henry sleeping with his busses.

The pictures of Henry with Lotso & eating the ice-cream are the most adorable pictures ever!!!!

I'm in the biggest scarf phase right now & I SO WANT THAT SCARF IN THE MIDDLE!!!

I'm caught up on your DHS day finally!

The pictures of Henry with Lotso are too cute! Lotso is HUGE and you're right... it looks like he swallows up the kiddos

And that's awesome that your Feb/March trip is still on!

:scared1: re the bus ride!!! You are right on....that is one patient driver....and occupants too!!:headache:
A very nicely rounded out day at DHS with RnRR, Star Tours....how fun that you were there the last day...thanks for posting all of the queue pictures :goodvibes I am going to miss it by a few weeks in May but alas I will return in October :thumbsup2
I am pretty sure I have seen a parade that had Mater and Lightning driving in it....I just can't remember what it was!!! It wouldn't have been Stars and Cars Motor parade? Hmmmmm maybe :confused3
Very good explanation of Lotso and how he came to be at DHS ;) I have had my picture taken with The Incredibles :rotfl: :rolleyes1
Looking forward to DTD and finding out the all important place to eat! :rotfl:

Tracy

The bus ride was a bit ridiculous. It was just one thing after another that kept delaying us. I kept thinking back to the time I was at DTD and late for an ADR and how frustrating it was when there were so many delays. Hopefully no one was running late for anything that day!

I was excited to ride Star Tours on the last day, it was neat to see everyone just taking it all in very slowly. I'm looking forward to the new one! :hyper:

It would make sense for McQueen and Mater to be driving in that parade, and I am pretty sure I remember reading that now that you mention it - I wanted to see it, but it switched out right before our first trip to something else. So if they CAN drive then there is no reason they shouldn't be in the new Countdown to Fun!

I am pretty sure I have had my picture taken with Frozone from the Incredibles...character meets are for adults too! :teeth:

Love the update Brook! I cant wait to see Star Tours refurbed...we arrive on May 27th, so it will be nice and new then. The picture of the lady in the Star Tours video with all her hair knotted on the one side always cracks me up:lmao:--thanks for posting a picture of that:thumbsup2
Looks like you guys had a great DHS day! Love the character interactions. We met Lotso on our trip this past May and loved him...I couldnt believe he was a villan when the CM told me (of course this was before the movie came out).
on a side note... a puke catcher I am not...oh my......puke makes me so queasy myself :lmao: but that is funny you and PoolRat are:)

I'm looking forward to seeing the new one too, just from the bits they have shown it looks fantastic! I hope it is. I will miss the retro feeling of it all if they change that though--including the chick with the knotted hair!

Joe is similar to you in the puke department. He's gotten less queasy as the years have gone on, but, he still hugely reacts to it every time. It doesn't even phase me anymore.

Brook, what an awesome update. I love all the photopass pics with Henry and the characters, especially when he is just "swallowed up".

I must tell you that I still carry baby wipes...and it is just DH and I that travel. But "Grumpy" has major issues with chocolate getting all over (I also carry a Tide stick with me too!).

Can't wait to hear about DTD.

Aren't those pictures so sweet? He won't be that small for long! He really likes giving big hugs to the characters too.

I carry a Tide stick too! They are so handy sometimes. Of course the times I really need them I usually have forgotten it...! But baby wipes are always close at hand, Joe and I use just as many as Henry!

 :sad2: I know Madie is only seven months old, but man, when Playhouse Disney comes on, man, she wiggles and giggles with delight, especially through the music. I was hoping to take her to this in October to see how she liked it. Bummer. :sad2:

I love your Lotsa pictures and the lowdown on his terms of residency!:rotfl:
God bless patient bus drivers, and I agree with PP, patient passengers.

Most of the show characters will remain the same, they are only removing Pooh and adding in the new show--I think it's called Jake and the Pirates or something like that. It's surprising they add a new show before it's even a "hit". But kinda neat too! I'm sure it will have a new storyline as well, which will be GREAT for Joe and I. :rolleyes1 ;) So, I'm thinking Madie will love this new one too! By then too Jake and the Pirates (or whatever its called) will be a regular show, it debuts next month I believe.

It was a cute story they had for Lotso! I'm sure LOTS of people ask!

Super fun update. Love all the character pictures with Henry - especially Lotso!

So great that you visited Star Wars on the last day. I loved seeing the queue pics because I suppose it will never look like that again. I wish it would open by the time I visit in Early May, but...oh well.

Oy to the Bus! Uggghhhhh! I feel sorry for that lady - I mean, lesson learned and all that. But I hate those type of waits!

I am really glad I took the extra time to get some pictures of the queue. They weren't coming out nearly as nicely as I wanted them to, but at least it's something to remember it all by! I will miss this old retro queue, but also looking forward to what Disney has up their sleeve with it!

That was the ONE time we had a long ride from the BW. I was nervous going in with the service there, but that was the only one time, and it wasn't even due to "normal" delays.

I think some of playhouse disney will remain the same: Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse clubhouse. I believe the new show, ____ and the pirates (jake?) will be added to it. That show looks cute, it has captain hook in it!

I saw my scarf I have on in your shopping picture!

:rotfl: I should have read this before I typed before! Yes, I think you are right - that is what I have read/heard too. I haven't seen previews for the new show though, I gotta look that up. Pirates will be great!!!

Which scarf did you get? I got one too....later in the trip. ;)

So, I have absolutely no idea where I left off in your report! I read the last few updates but I know I missed a lot! I have to go back!

It sounds like a great day at DHS!! You did a lot! I'm a fan of Mama Melrose! It's not the best italian I've ever had but it's good! I think the carbs and protein do it for me! LOL! It's also such a cool place!!!

Good luck with the continued job search! When it's right you'll know it's right!

I have a tiny bit of bad news! I had to move our March trip! :sad2: DD's school schedule just didn't allow for me to take her out in March! So, we're going Feb 20th - 25th! The bummer is we're going to miss you by 3 days! REALLY!? That stinks!

Exactly what we think about Mama Melrose. Not the best, but good! And the atmosphere is just comfortable and nice. We almost added it again for Feb/March but I talked Joe into doing some new stuff!

OH MAN! That stinks about us missing each other...and it's not even by 1 day, we arrive on the 26th! We will miss each other by ONE day. :headache: Really though, we should plan a beach day this summer and this clan will head out to LI and we'll soak in the sun and let the kiddos play! :cloud9:

And bonus-your trip is now CLOSER! :yay: And I see a KOTS in your siggy! :hyper: How are you going to do the surprise?
