Basking in the Glow of the (not so) Creepy Clown -2/11-Pictures, Final Thoughts, PTR!

I almost forgot

Soarin' was at 5 minutes !!!!!!
I best I got all week was 10 or 15.
I believe I know why :rolleyes1 Was DHS a F! night?

I swore I posted to your TR, but apparently I only did it in my head :sad2:.

Bill has the Chick-Fil-A obsession as well, I have been told we HAVE to stop there before getting on ME on the next trip.

"Dance Mommy!" that is too adorable, Henry is a riot! Wow ME, no wait at check in AND the room was ready, how fantastic!! That view is amazing! What a wonderful way to start off your trip.

I love all your pictures from around the Boardwalk, Henry looked like he was having a great time at the arcade. Awww I love how Henry heard Joe and hugged him, how sweet.

Love the Epcot pictures, I miss being there so much! Ok, was Joe sick??? Not craving pizza, what was up with that?

Oh no about the Mexican restaurant, but you got to go to Bill's fave CS place and
Joe got Bill's favorite meal there. You didn't walk around the WS for no reason, you took pictures, we love pictures .

How wonderful that Henry got to ride Soarin and he loved it. What luck that there was only a 5 minute wait. Wonderful that there was such a short wait at the Character Connection too, you really had the mojo going on that day.

Wow what a gorgeous plaza to see in NYC. Bill and I always wanted to go to NYC, maybe someday.

I am so happy to be caught up! I can't wait to read more.

All caught up and now going on vacation myself, don't go too fast while I'm away!!;) Loving your TR so far, your 1st day sounds just perfect, right pace, the park was so empty and like Henry really was enjoying himself now that he is a big boy!!! Love the character pictures with H, I'm pretty sure Cole will be nervous by himself with the characters, but hoping he's like H!!!!:goodvibes

Love the fountain pic! Did you see there's an article on the guy who designed it in the new edition of Disney Files...just got ours a couple days ago.

Hey Brook! :goodvibes I just found your TR. Sorry I'm late to the party! I have to head off to work now, but plan to sit right here and catch up on all of your TR tomorrow. popcorn:: Can't wait! :yay:

I only read your first post so far and I have to say that I agree - that clown slide isn't as creepy as everyone makes him out to be!! I can't wait to be flying out of his mouth!!! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Love your fountain pics!

I made a little purchase on Thursday and bought us tickets to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in November. It is going to just be Melody, Juliana, and myself. We are going to the 11am show then hang out in Times Square for a while. I'd love to get down to little Italy for dinner but I'm not sure if that is going to happen.:confused3

How nice of our firends to induldge you so you could see the beautiful fountain. I know it's not Disney but it does have a Disney tie in.

Exactly - and that's why I figured I might as well share it here! :goodvibes The friends we are with hope to join us for a trip in the near future. He has been here once, but she never has.

Wait a minute you booked March? Where? I think I'm going to get to meet Henry!!

Yep! We booked! We PMed back and forth, so you know the details...I'll make an actual update with the info after replies here.

Brook your fountain pictures are gorgeous. I'm starting to calm down now....

 That area really is beautiful - I used to be over there quite a bit when I lived here as a single lady, but now we are not over there too often and frequent the east side of Manhattan much more.

My great uncle used to be the chairman of the board for Lincoln Center. He and my aunt have one of those amazing Manhattan apartments that they have lived in since my dad was a little kid. It is filled with pictures of them with every prima ballerina, Barishnikov, every sitting president from the 60s to Clinton, summers with the Kennedys etc. They are pretty amazing. My dad worked in Rockefeller Plaza and I used to love going to work with him for a half day and then going to see them and then go behind the scenes at Lincoln Center. And we could just walk into the Met or MOMA without anyone batting an eye. It was pretty VIP. Wish I had appreciated it more...now that I live in AL life is a little different. :rotfl:

Oh, I'd love to see their apartment! I bet it's like a little museum to walk through and just gaze at the pictures...not that I would know who ANYONE is, but just to see!

Kids never quite grasp the privilege of things like that. When I was 17 I took a 10 day trip to Spain, and while I DID appreciate it, I would appreciate it sooooooo much more now that I understand it's not exactly easy to jet set off for 10 days to Spain!

Thanks for the link Brook!

Is Via Naploli (I'm sure I butchered the name) walk in only? I read that so many people have walked in, so I wondered.

That fountain is really pretty.

You spelled it right! Via Napoli. I think they started taking ADRs on the 16th - it was in soft opening when we went.

OOOH a March trip...when will we get the details!!!!

Love the pictures of that fountain, simply gorgeous!! Oh to live in New York City how much fun to have all that culture around you!!! The Opera, Ballet, right next to each other!! FANTASTIC!!

Details coming up here after replies!

It is amazing living here...we just love it. It's strange to think we live in a vacation destination though, and makes me really truly appreciate it when we have time to enjoy some of these things and how easy it is for us to have them right here! My friend, who we were with for the fountain shots, can get tickets to the ballet or Philharmonic for under $20. We are gonna make it a girls night sometime and get sushi and a show!

Oh that fountain is SOOOOOOOO pretty! Thank you so much for sharing and providing a soothing respite in the middle of my day!

Isn't it beautiful? And the pictures really don't do it justice!

That was the only thing we had trouble with when we stayed at BW. We ate at the Belle Vue every morning. I know, what I know now, I cannot believe I gave up park time for that. :sad2: Anyway my DD was little and was, still is, a picky eater. I did get a take out burger for her from the Big River Brewery place there on the Boardwalk. The lack of a real grab and go was a problem for us then. I know better now. :thumbsup2

When we stayed at SSR I got a bit irritated that the food was so far away in the main building, but this trip it didn't bug me at all. I felt like there were enough options close enough - plus Epcot food. :lovestruc  We ate breakfast in the room almost every morning though, so that helped.

That's a beautiful fountain! :thumbsup2

Did you guys get refillable mugs? And if so, where did you fill them? Trying to decide if we'll get them or not since there's no food court. :confused3

We did have mugs - they could be refilled at the Boardwalk Bakery, Boardwalk Joe's, or the Pizza Window. All those places just look at your mug and then give you an actual cup....which I really liked! But you DO have to wait in line if there is one. I think Boardwalk Joe's actually has coffee that you can fill...not sure, avoided the Nescrape. ;)

What a pretty fountain!! And such a great time of year for your new Disney adventure!

I'm very, very excited about our March trip!

The fountain is beautiful! I'm glad you got to see it!

You book a March trip?! And it's one that doesn't match my dates :confused3:snooty:

 I can't remember your dates off hand...I gotta go look now!

isn"t it awesome to get to see illuminations on your first night and then get to walk back to the resort that is soo close! We also did this on our first night and then it was so great just to take a short walk to the BEach Club! That is why I love the boardwalk area!

YES! It was sooooooooooooooooo nice. We found ourselves in Epcot quite a bit - and it was just wonderful!

Hi Brooke -

Awesome start to your TR. I am officially caught up and I think you had the perfect first day. Your studio looks lovely and the location is fantastic! Wowsa! :rotfl2: to the walk around the world showcase only to find Mexico closed. Yikes! The new restaurant opened the day I left...at 3pm! Looks like a fab location.

Well, personally, I think you had a great first day! And I am glad to hear you liked that chik-fil-a. You got some really great pics - just lovely!

Were you able to try the new Mexico place? The reviews so far give me hope that there will be tasty Mexican food at the World! We LOVE Mexican, so it makes me really excited!

A March trip? Details please :flower3:
You know....there are some really beautiful flowers (and a fun group of girls going) in May.....:upsidedow
Just trying to make sure you get enough use out of your AP ;)

Tracy

I could easily return in May for more flowers. :cloud9: I'll keep whittling away on the DH. ;)

That was the other thing. I remember we went down to Belle Vue but they were not supposed to refill mugs there. We sent the kids with big puppy dog eyes.:rolleyes1

I think you were supposed to go to the bakery??? Mr. Cranky pants ( my Dh ) made sure to point that out to me that there was no where convenient to fill up mugs. :rolleyes1

I *think* they do refills now at BellVue, I'm almost positive I saw a sign for it. It is a very different set-up than your typical resort since the Boardwalk has everything instead of a main building/lobby area. We refilled ours at the Bakery or the Pizza window. I would say though, if you aren't planning to eat at the BW often, it might not be worth the money unless you like the mug as a souvie.

Lincoln Center is such a beautiful complex, and the fountain fits right in! :goodvibes

It really is! When I lived here previously it was all under construction and they have just done wonderful things with it!

I watched Moonstruck tonight and saw that fountain.

Is Moonstruck a movie? I'm COMPLETELY out of the loop and only know things about Thomas the Train, Bob the Builder, Blues Clues and Mickey Mouse Club House. :rotfl: Did they show how it "dances"? It's really beautiful!

Love the fountain in LC. We go to the opera 2 times everyyear and I graduated law school at avery fisher Hall!! LOVE IT

I so wish Joe would go to the opera! Maybe sometime I'll convince him. If not, my good friend enjoys it, so it will just have to be a Girl's Night thing!

Be sure to pack really warm clothes for March. I froze.

Eeeeeeeeeeeek! I DO NOT want cold weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2: What were your dates in March?

Oooh, pretty, pretty fountain.:)

It really is! Very fun to watch.

Hey Brook... I'm caught up again... I really love that photo that you took of Epcot at night, the one where you said it was one of your favorite places in Disney... mine too! It is one of the places where I think.. wow, I am here! The fountain, the music, the swirling purple things, the excitement in the air. I love the night time photo you took, especially without people in the picture!! :thumbsup2
Henry is adorable as usual during his whole Soarin experience, I'm so glad he was tall enough! Gotta love those shoes! ;)

Exactly! It just IS Disney to me. :cloud9: I love that area! Just thinking about it or seeing a picture brings me right back to that moment and another from September 2009 walking through...

It was ALL about those shoes! ::yes:: Thankfully we won't have to play that game in March since we did get turned down one time and he was devastated....that's coming later in the report. :guilty:

Hi Brook!!!!

What a great night at Epcot! I'm so glad Henry got to ride - Justin is now 40.5" tall :) so we're hoping he gets on some rides this trip.

Yummy meal at SS! It's been a long time since I've eaten there, but yummo!!!

Congrats on booking your dates for March!!!! :) How exciting!!

:yay: I hope he loves all those rides! Whenever Henry sees any pictures of Soarin' he gets very excited and wants to go NOW back to Mickey's House. (I so understand!)

Ok I will be the gazillionth person to ask...when in March?! I should be an official DVCer today and plan to call to book our March trip. We are going either the 1st or 2nd week, depending on which resort we can get and when!

First, CONGRATS on being a DVC member! Howdy neighbor!!!! I hope you were able to get what you wanted - we had to juggle around a bit but are very, very happy with what we did get....details will be in the next update!

GREAT updates Brook! I never really paid too much attention to the BW but your pictures and comments have captured my interest. We don't own DVC but it plays in the back of my mind at times... :rotfl: Hmm.... :)

I absolutely adore the picture of Henry sleeping in the big bed - too adorable - I just love the little ones all curled up! :lovestruc

Heather

I am ready to go back to the BW any trip! We aren't there for March, but it was on the list. I have a feeling I might miss it a bit, but will also enjoy what we did end up booking.

Hi! I thought I'd join in your TR beings I see you on every other TR I sub too! haha

I'm really enjoying it so far. I really want to stay at BC one year. The walking distance to Epcot would be soo nice! What is your home resort?

Your first day sounds so nice! Even though you didn't get a whole lot of park time in, every part of your day was full of pixie dust! I'm so glad Henry got to ride Soarin'! My oldest rode when she was 3, and this year I'm hoping my youngest makes the cut off and can ride!

:welcome: Thank you for reading!!!

We own at AKL - but we want to try them all. BC is one of those that are hard to get into, but we hope to within the next year or two!

I hope your little one can ride this time! They are very strict about the 40" (which is GOOD), so tall shoes.

Cant' wait to hear March details - we may be there March 19 for a week:cool1::cool1:

:yay: Let me know if that "we may be there" turns into a "we WILL be there" :rolleyes1

I almost forgot

Soarin' was at 5 minutes !!!!!!
I best I got all week was 10 or 15.
I believe I know why :rolleyes1 Was DHS a F! night?

10-15 is awesome though!!! DHS was a F! night, so that is probably why. I loved it!!!

I swore I posted to your TR, but apparently I only did it in my head :sad2:.

I am so happy to be caught up! I can't wait to read more.

We had some serious mojo that first day - it was GREAT! No waits for anything.

Have you had Chick-Fil-A before? If not you'll soon know why Bill is obsessed. It's TASTY!!!

If you ever do come to NYC let me know! I'll be more than happy to show you the City. :goodvibes

I hope you were feeling better this morning, I saw your note on FB last night! :sad2: I hope you have an awesome trip, I look forward to the TR!!!! :hyper:

Henry was all about the characters -he knew just what to do, go up there, hug, greet, turn say "Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese!" smile and say good-bye. It was so funny, it was like he was an 'ol pro!

Love the fountain pic! Did you see there's an article on the guy who designed it in the new edition of Disney Files...just got ours a couple days ago.

Yep! That's what spurred me on to go look at it! I love the Fountain of the Nations, and when I saw he designed this one I had to go see it!!! It's not quiet as impressive, obviously, but still beautiful.

Hey Brook! :goodvibes I just found your TR. Sorry I'm late to the party! I have to head off to work now, but plan to sit right here and catch up on all of your TR tomorrow. popcorn:: Can't wait! :yay:

:welcome: Glad you are joining in!!!

And that clown slide is a very, very fun slide!!! I'm not a big waterslide person, but I have to say I had a good time on that one!

Plus, he just makes for excellent TR fodder and jokes. ;)

Love your fountain pics!

I made a little purchase on Thursday and bought us tickets to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in November. It is going to just be Melody, Juliana, and myself. :yay::yay::yay: That is SO great! I have wanted to see that - but never have. I wonder if Joe would even be interested....:scrtachin

By then hopefully the new Disney store in Times Square will be open too. And there is always 5th Ave with FAO and the American Girl store (if she's into that). You guys will have a WONDERFUL time I'm sure. If you have time and don't mind me crashing your family outing , I'd be more than happy to trek into the City to meet up with you for lunch or to play around in Toys R Us or something! But if you want to keep it just family - I totally understand, you guys are close, we'll meet up someday!

I so wish Joe would go to the opera! Maybe sometime I'll convince him. If not, my good friend enjoys it, so it will just have to be a Girl's Night thing!

This reminds me of Ryan and me. He does not like operas or musicals. He's tried, really doesn't like them. I do not like Cracker Barrel (please don't hate me Memom and Jill!!!) So we have a deal worked out in our marriage, trips to musicals and Cracker Barrels need to be in 1:1 ratios. Right now, we are up one Cracker Barrel. I will not go again until I go a musical with him -- Oh and musicals at Disney do not count!
Now you know some of the goofy workings of the Mop family marriage!

:lmao:

Okay, okay, I'll spill!

We are currently booked for March 20-27 at BLT, Lagoon View!

AND

We will be adding on Pop Century for March 17-20! (just gotta wait for payday to put down the deposit!)

That means TEN DAYS in Disney during the Flower & Garden Festival!!!!!!!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

All you DISers who went during the F&GF had me really itchin' for a trip during this time, I'm so excited!

So, who all is going during that time too? :hyper:

:rotfl: It's all about compromise! I like it!

Pop and BLT! F&G, color me jealous! :) Sounds like heaven, 19 days as north winters just won't end... LOVE it!

Wow! What a great trip you will have. Sounds awesome. BLT looks so cool. Maybe Henry can play down in the kids center one night and you can enjoy a grownups dinner at CG during Wishes. Not that I have ever thought about doing that the SECOND all of mine are 3 and up. :rotfl:

Well, we booked last night for 2/26-3/6 to get a better deal and try out Free Dining instead of going for our Spring Break (no free dining and close to $1,000 more). This is the last year I am willing ot take Abby out of school since she is in pre-k. I would have been there the exact same time as you. I am a bit sad now. I would have LOVED to have met you. I was already imagining a Casey's Corndog Meet:rotfl2:.

Congrats on your trip!

Sounds like a fabulous trip. We saw Flower and Garden in 2007. I wish I had taken more pictures.

Henry will love the pop jet area at POP.
