Base for Cinderella Coach Centerpiece

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can give me some ideas, please. My daughter is having a sweet 16 with a princess theme. She wants this to be her centerpiece:

I hope it is ok I posted the above link. It is a silver coach. I want to elevate it on a base so I came up with 2 ideas. One is to get square styrofoam pieces in various sizes, cover them in silver, then stack them, put votives on each layer and then sprinkle fake clear and pink gems on the base. The 2nd idea is to get a tall vase, fill it with fake pink & clear gems, put some lights in the vase then the coach on top. Of course I would have to figure out if the coach would fit on top of vase and how to secure it.

I really really appreciate any ideas or advice. Thank you so much.

I like the ideas of foam but I think I would put a mirror under it some how. The light will make it even more sparkly

Thanks so much for your reply. I agree about the mirror. Since I posted this I also thought of something else, I would take a candle holder and glue a mirror on top of it. I would put the coach on top of that with some candles. I am not really sure what I am going to do.

With it having lit candles, you want it to be secure. The foam idea I think is best, but maybe use boxes? When my mom used to sell partylight, she used to use the empty boxes from the holders under a table cloth to create different heights. Since the holders came in the boxes, they fit on top of them well. I'd use a few graduated sizes of boxes, with a mirror on top and the carriage sitting on the mirror. Use votives and flowers on the other levels.

What if you used battery operated tea lights/candle? You will not have to worry about a flame.
