Barq's Red Cream Soda?!

Red Creme Soda? We have Barq's here but it's ONLY the Root Beer, I've never seen or heard of Red Creme Soda......I love me a good Creme Soda, Weinhards (sp) is my fave.

In St. Croix we have it randomly, mostly at places with fountain soda. I know for sure that the local chicken place sells it.

Ah, Barq's Red Drink -- one of the best aspects of childhood in Louisiana.


I was an adult before I realized that it isn't sold everywhere. However, you should be able to easily find it anywhere in Louisiana and on the Mississippi/Alabama Gulf Coast.

I have no idea what makes it so, but the thing about Red Drink is that it is crisper than other creme soda, it doesn't leave a cloying vanilla aftertaste. Also, it packs a caffeine wallop; I think it's right up there with Mountain Dew in terms of the caffeine content. (Only the regular; the diet is caffeine-free.)
