I know a lot of people seems to like Bare Minerals foundation...but how does it hold up in humid weather? I am thinking about buying the starter kit at Ulta and would appreciate any and all feedback!
TIA!

I wear bare minerals but Florida in August... don't bother. I find that it doesn't last long (nothing does though). I'm too busy pulling my hair off my face and spraying myself with a mister fan to really care. But, at home in upstate NY, it's not too bad. There are just a couple weeks of humidity where I find it doesn't last but the rest of the summer is fine. I really like it and would recommend it. Shell

I haven't tried it in Florida, yet, but it holds up well to our humid Michigan summers. :) FYI- If you have any discoloration (I have dark circles under my eyes and redness around my nose) you might want to order Bisque to use as a concealer. The foundation on it's own doesn't cover those things on me. My 25 yr old DD is fine with just the foundation and my 15 yr old DD with great skin only uses tinted Mineral Veil.

I am so glad this question came up. I was wondering the same thing myself, as I will be in the world the second week of June. I recently purchased mine this past weekend from Sephora and will say definitely use the skin rev-er upper as it seems to help control oil. And my face seems to feel so much cleaner since I have been using the bare minerals

I love my bare minerals.:thumbsup2
It holds up pretty well in the humidity.
Although I usually don't wear it too much during the summer months.
I agree with another poster---if you have redness/dark circles/anything to conceal you have to get bisque. Most days that's all I wear. It works great.

It holds up pretty well. It has a sunscreen in it as well. Only like SPF 15, but still something. We were there in June/July for 10 days last year and I used the BM...I did sweat, but there wasn't any color on my clothes from it. I would also get bisque. It hides pretty well, but it doesn't totally cover up pimples or bigger flaws. I love BM and will never give it up.

Thanks everyone! I just wear pressed powder now (Estee Lauder Lucidity) as a day to day rather than full blown foundation, so I am hoping this will be a comparable switch in terms of coverage.

BTW, Is bisque a color? :confused3

If you have a Sephora near you, go there to get it. My friend got her's at ultra and it didn't come with the brushes. I just got mine at Sephora last week and it had all the brushes too. I saved more money. Also have someone try the different shades on you so that you buy the right one. After trying the different shades on I ended up with the one that I wouldn't normal pick for myself. I hate wearing foundation and this product covers like one but doesn't feel like it. I am not sure how it holds up in humidity because I live in Arizona. What is humidity? Just kidding. It works great here and even was enough sun block to hold off our hot sun. No sunburn on my face after setting in the sun for hours watching spring training games yesterday. It was close to 90, if not 90.

I just purchased the BM from QVC and I love it, too ! I live in New York
just over the boarder from Canada, so we have cold winters. I have not used the BM in the summer yet - hope it will be fine.
In Florida it might be a different story.:cool1:

If you don't normally wear foundation you might do what I do most days: I use Summer Bisque to cover broken capilaries and dark circles then I use Mineral Veil over my whole face. I only use the foundation when I am "going out".
Bisque comes in three colors that I know of- Regular Bisque is a beigy color, Summer Bisque is beige with a yellow undertone good for covering redness, and Honey Bisque for darker skintones.

I have worn Bare Minerals for years and where ever I am it seems to hold up fine--even in the most humid and windy states. Enjoy

I am glad to see this post because I have been thinking of buying Bare Minerals for quite some time now. I have a mild case of roseacea and I hope it will help. Where is the best place to buy it? I have thought about going in to Sephora, but the deals on the BM website seem to be better. Any advice?

I think you will love BM! The deals on the BM website are better...they come with more brushes it seems, and maybe others. I order from Sephora for a couple of reasons. I don't want auto-delivery. I'm sure there is a way to "turn it off" so that you don't recieve it, but I never looked into it and just order from Sephora. I got free shipping with a $75 purchase a few days ago, so that was a welcome savings! I also order from other brands at Sephora, so that is another reason. (I have to order because out here in the woods there is no convenient Sephora location). I actually just placed my order and should recieve my package tomorrow! I love replenished makeup...getting ready for my trip next month so I had to do it!

BTW, QVC carries it and that's actually where I ordered it from when I first decided to try it. I ordered a small introductory kit and I want to say it was around $25...came with foundation, warmth, mineral veil and a brush. It doesn't look like it's available at QVC anymore, but if you can find it somewhere...I'd definitely go for it!

I am not a fan of the auto delivery either. I will search around for a good deal and if I can't find one, I will head over to Sephora. Thank you so much for the advice! :)

I wear BM and I have dark circles and redness too. I'm glad I read this post. I didn't know anything about the Bisque but I can't wait to try it.

I finally gave into the BM phenomena and bought some yesterday at Sephora. Up until today, I've been using a tinted moisturizer and either a pressed or loose powder instead of foundation. So far, I'm liking the BM. I'm curious how folks find the eye shadows and such?

Here's a tip for those traveling with Bare Minerals. Before you pack it in your suitcase, cover up the holes (where the powder comes out) with masking tape. That way, you won't get a ton of extra product coming into the little basin where you pick it up with the brush.

My BM accidentally went upside down in my cosmetic basket one time, and a ton came through the holes. What a mess -- way more than you need. I had to shake and shake and shake to get it to go back in the bottom of the container.

I wore BE while on our September 06 trip. It worked great. I also use the skin rever upper, but I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

You might want to find a "starter kit" om QVC.

I think BM is really good at holding up in heat & humidity. I also use the skin rever upper underneath.....

Well, I live in Orlando and Bare Minerals is the only thing I wear year round. I threw out all of my pressed powders and foundations because they just run. It's the only product that stays on my face all day! I love it!:thumbsup2
