Bare Minerals and FL Humidity

I've wanted to try BM but was worried that since I wear contacts I would have a problem with particles getting in my eyes.Does anyone else wear contacts and use BM? Is this an issue I should be concerned about?
Thanks
Kathleen

I wear contacts and so far I've had no trouble with BM products.

This is so funny that so many people use this and so many esp. just on this board! I use it as well but I was thinking it would be perfect for warm weather since it is powder it absorbs oil...I notice that it doesn't work well in winter because my skin is dry and when I use the makeup it sometimes can emphasize that! I am going down next week I will let you know how it holds up!

I've been wearing it for about 2 years. Minnesota is VERY humid in the summer and I have also worn it in Orlando. No problems that I've seen.

::yes::
It's important to moisturize before using it, but it's VERY important to moisturize before using it in the winter. I wear it all year, but I do use more moisturizer in the winter.

I have been wearing BM on my 40 something skin for 3 years now and this is the first time in my life I am without acne. I have worn it more than once in WDW without any problems. I think liquid foundations sweat off much quicker. I also have not seen it on my clothing like other foundations. I do agree, however, when your skin is dry from winter heat you need a moisturizer.:cool1: :cool1:

I love Bare Minerals!! I wear it daily, regardless. I never had an issue with it in WDW, and I've been there in September, October and May. A few tips for newbies:

Wear a good moisturizer underneath if your skin is dry or you are in a dry climate. If your skin is oily or you are in a humid climate, use an oil-free moisturizer. I alternate (as needed) between Clinique Dramatically different moistirizing lotion and moisturizing gel. One contains oil and one does not. The gel makes a fantastic primer for BM, btw... even better than the skin revver-upper.

Sephora always has better starter kits than Ulta. Both stores let you play with it before you buy. QVC has good kits, as well. Buying products by the 'kit' allows you to get brushes and other goodies much more cheaply. Nordstrom.com has probably the best starter kit I've seen, but they do not carry it in their stores.

Don't stress if your powders get stuck on the 'wrong' side of the grate. Simply dip a tiny corner of your brush into the powder to swirl in the lid instead of tapping it in. You'll be a pro in no time.

And... the best part about BM... you can carry as much as you like in your purse or carry-on through security at the airport! They're powder!

Enjoy! :cutie:

Mine held up great last August at Disney!!

I'm a BE user for 5 years now - won't wear anything else!!

When I go to Disney I can take very little makeup with me, cause you can multi-task with just a color or 2. It's foundation, mineral veil, face color (like blush), eye liner and mascara. I use the face color for my face and eyes and lip color (just dip my chap stick in it). But I also think a full face of make up in my pictures at Disney looks a little fake, IMO.

Oh, and by the way, I have a GREAT web site I go to to order my make-up. She's a private seller and does sell sample sizes as well. She's shut down til March 24th, but you can order after that. If you want her web site PM me. She's great to deal with and ships really fast. And she doesn't charge sales tax!

I've been using BM since Dec. and i love it. It is easy to apply, almost foolproof, which is exactly what I need. I stopped using the Rev-Upper because i was breaking out, so I switched to a different moisturizer and have had no problems since. I agree to, if you have problem skin, yu need the Bisque. I've never tried the eyeshadows. I ordered the starter kit from Sephora, love it! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I LOVE Bare Minerals, but if you can -- I'd just go with a sunscreen for the day, and maybe a little SPF lose powder (I think BM makes one). Go lite on the make up, your pores will thank you

I love bare minerals... in normal conditions. The makeup itself held up pretty well in the heat, but my face itched like crazy when I'd sweat. I don't normally have sensitive skin so I was a little surprised. So, after the first day I just decided to go bare face.

I was going to purchase this but someone recommended Sheer Cover and said it was better...what are your thoughts???!!!:confused3
