That is what I was afraid of. I did use the fairly light this morning and I liked that color but I think my perfect shade will be a combo of fair and fairly light. I guess it is still worth the price of the starter kit to get the brushes.

It is definitely worth the price to get the starter kit. You can pick up a sample of BE #1 Fair on eBay to make sure it's the color you want.

Okay what are the must haves? I want to try this but not neccessarily buy EVERYTHING.

Foundation, Flawless Face Brush, Mineral Veil, Glee if you are a cool gal or Warmth if you are a warm gal.

Thanks, I ordered the starter kit this morning. I was in the store yesterday and the "make up lady" told me to use the fairly light but when she put the fair on my jaw line, the ladies around us said that looked better. So who knows. I bought the fairly light and it seems nice but I still think a combo of the two would be best.

in my 9 pc set it came with blush an eyeshadow and a glimmer....I think the colors are poppy, and then the other two are a green and a blue...not too crazy for the colors! :)
I am in love with the foundation though...I was an Estee Lauder liquid foundation girl and this stuff works awesome!

Wow! That got expensive fast! :)

Not really. You can pick up samples of these on eBay and iti's pretty reasonable. You can even find decent prices on the brush on eBay, too. Now, if you want full sizes, that is when it starts to get expensive, but the stuff lasts forever!

So I can get away with samples? For how long because the samples didn't sound very big to me.

The laborday coupon code is expired. Are there any current coupon codes available?

It depends who you buy from on eBay. Some offer 1/8 teaspoon samples and some offer 1/4 teaspoon samples. That size would last you a couple of weeks - enough time to decide if you like it without worrying about investing money in something you might not like. Honestly, the best way to start is to buy the infomercial kit offered at www.buyBareEscentuals.com. It's BE's official site, so you are getting the exact same thing offered on TV.

The kits don't come with fair - which is what I am. Sort of pinking undertones to my very light sking. The fairly light looks like it has golden undertones. :( I think I just need to go to a counter and figure this all out.

Yes, it can get expensive, but in this instance, you really do get what you pay for. I only use the foundation, the bisque for cover up (works fantastic), and the mineral veil. Great deals can be found on eBay, even for the full size items and brushes. Just make sure you go with a seller with positive feedback.

I rarely use warmth on my skin, but I do dip my chapstick in it like the suggestion on the how-to DVD. I do this when I am too lazy to use lipstick :) It looks awesome.

I have pink undertones in my skin, too, but the 1.2/Fairly Light works really well for me. If you have a store near you, I would definitely see what they think, if not, order a sample.

Unfortunately, the infomercial/starter kits do not come with #1 Fair. I do not know why they don't have a kit with it because so many people need that color.

I've heard of a few infomercial customers who have been able to talk to someone about changing out a foundation or get approval to send back one foundation and exchange it for what they'd like.

I've never ordered from the infomercial though-

Good luck!

I love QVCs combo kits, but I also have to remind myself that they charge a separate s & h for EACH item number that you order.

Saying that, I will tell you that QVC had a 'try me' kit last November that I bought. It consisted of (small sizes) foundation, mineral veil, warmth and a Flawless Application brush. It was less than $25, not including s & h and tax.

They just ran another one last month with the same lineup, except they substituted Glee for the Warmth. It's currently sold out, but will probably have more back in next month for the big show.

HTH!

As far as I know, the infomercial does not send out #1, though. It's not in their inventory, and they ship separate from BE's Mail Order.

I ordered the 'try me' because until I get my make under next month- I'm not positive that I'm the foundation color that I've been told I was.

I also ordered both sets of the customer glimmers- I seem to be experimenting more with eye colors lately.....

Let me know how you like the Finished Line kit. I had it on waitlist from the anniversary show- but got tired of waiting for it and ended up cancelling it.

I really like the Finished Line kit. It took a little getting used to(I've never used liquid liners, this was a learning curve ;) ), at first I put it on too heavy. At least for me. I now use a really light hand to apply it. It tells you to use 2 drops of the liquid and then add the powder liner. Let me tell you, 1 drop is more than enough, even if you use alot of liner. It stays put really well. My pencil liner used to "move" on me. Not this liner. Stays were you put it, all day!!!

It's too bad that the rest of the people here can't get the 1.0 foundation in the kits. That really stinks!!!
