Barcelona hotel

For those not booked yet also recommending the Novotel Barcelona City next to Torre Agbar. Slightly further away from the hustle and bustle of the Ramblas tourist area with a great shopping mall right next to it. It's a newer, developing area so also interesting modern architecture nearby if you are into it. The pool area at the top of the hotel really helps as it can be suffocating hot already in late May-early June.

Loved this place!

My daughter still talks about her room and the views we had from our balcony of the other apartments off the courtyard (visions of "Rear Window" LOL). I'm just sorry to hear that they did away with the prepaid breakfast you could get -- in fact they did away with breakfast all together. Their dining room was an amazing experience because of the antique cars strewn about.

I have stayed at the Hotel Eurostars Grand Marina 3 times before and after my cruise. :) It is situated between Las Rambles and the port and a taxi ride to the port only takes 5 minutes :drive:
I second the Hotel Eurostars Grand Marina! Excellent location (walking distance to Las Ramblas, right on the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus route, walking distance from a Metro Station, short distance to the port). Right on the water. Rooms in general either have a magnificent water view or a magnificent city view! Rooms are very large by European standards, with floor to ceiling windows. Really loved staying there!

2014 - stayed at Hilton Diagonal Mar. Not close to the port/water - about ten minutes away at least by car. Across the street from a big mall. We stayed one night and chose that hotel because the DCL transport left from there LOL. Booked on my own though because it was much cheaper than booking through DCL. 6 people in our group split between two rooms. Very nice hotel. Nice quiet rooms. I'd recommend it for the purpose it served us, but if we ever go back to Barcelona for a longer stay I would choose a hotel closer to tourist attractions.

We also stayed at the Novetel in Barcelona and loved it. The pool on the roof top was fantastic after over 30 hours travelling. We were told by hotel staff of a street of restaurants nearby I cannot remember the name of the street but it was filled with lovely places to eat and our children still say it was one of there favourite places to eat in Europe.
