Hen Party!

I had an absolutely perfect hen party this weekend - my two MoHs did an amazing job, it was exactly what I was hoping for, and more!

The fun began on Friday, after a lovely day off work - my sister picked me up and drove to our parents' house in Brighton - my aunt, uncle & cousin (MoH) were staying there too so it was a great evening.. my Mum and Dad gave me a fun little gift..

On Saturday, we drove to the spa hotel - where we met my friends. We were given a tour of the spa and robes & slippers to change into! We used the sauna, steam room, pool, jacuzzi and relaxation room - and one by one we went off for our treatments - I had a facial which was very relaxing.
At 3pm, we'd all had our treatments and met together in the cafe for our afternoon tea with champagne!

The food was delicious and the whole experience was fabulous - very lady-like and civilised

Some friends could only make it to the spa, but the majority of us drove down to Brighton - checked into hotels & got ready for a night out. It was a bit of a rush but we met again at 7pm at a Spanish restaurant in the Lanes in Brighton.. DF's Mum & sisters joined us as did some other friends who hadn't been able to make it to the spa.. I was really pleased how flexible my MoHs had made the day

We had some delicious tapas - it was a set menu and the food just kept coming!

My MoHs brought confetti & napkins to decorate the table..

Once we'd finished eating.. my sister handed out a quiz for everyone! "How Well Do You Know the Bride?"

It was really cute & got everyone talking - then after that, she surprised me with a quiz about Steve!! they had emailed him to get his answers

There weren't any horrible questions.. just things like "Where was your first kiss?" .. "what does Steve say is the best meal that you cook?" .. and "what was his favourite date with you?" ... to which his answer was... "Disney World" !!

After the meal, we went to a pub for drinks - it was so busy everywhere, Brighton definitely is a party town, it seemed everyone there was on hen or stag parties!!
It was great to see my Mum & DF's Mum chatting together, and all my friends getting to know each other.. I didn't need to be nervous at all that people wouldn't get along

My sister & cousin had bought me a few accessories to wear as I was the bride-to-be... fairy wings & a tiara.. nothing too awful lol

My Mum, aunt & DF's Mum headed home, as did a few of my friends who needed to get trains back to London - and the rest of us headed to a night club

There was a huge queue for the club.. but my sister had booked a VIP package for us a surprise! we were led straight in & to a booth.. where we each got a glass of champagne.. felt like a celebrity!

I bought some pink champagne for everyone..

and we danced the night away!

(my bridesmaids are definitely party girls!)

I hadn't been on a night out like that for years, but it was fantastic - we didn't get back to the hotel until 4am

Luckily, I felt fine the next day - we met my parents for brunch then headed home.. it was even better than I could've dreamed of and I think everyone really enjoyed it

So.... today is the first day of JUNE!! We're getting married THIS MONTH!


I have emailed our travel agent this week, few more things to finalise with her.. our Disney Cruise 'Mickey Mail' is in the post to us now

We have booked a private photopass session for one evening at the Grand Floridian.. I'm hoping for some nice shots so that we can use one for our wedding gift thank you cards

And for our Wishes fireworks cruise, I've added two glasses of pink bubbly & a dozen chocolate dipped strawberries to our package

Our Travel Agent sent me the whole private dining menu for the fireworks cruise boats & the Grand Yacht .. there is some amazing food you can have onboard.. but as that night we'll be having dinner at 'Ohana, I'm not expecting that we'll be very hungry - strawberries & champagne will be perfect!



Not much to report today... we have paid the balance for the cake & chair covers.. and I phoned American Express to let them know I'll be using my card abroad at the end of the month... the girl I spoke to was so excited when I mentioned it was my honeymoon! She said at the end of the call "Have a wonderful wedding day & honeymoon!"

I also booked a table at one of our favourite restaurants for the Thursday night before the wedding (last 'date night' before we're married! hehe) - and also a table at an italian restaurant with my cousin and her husband on the Sunday after the wedding... they are taking us to the airport on the Monday morning - we did the same with them last year for their wedding.. sort of a little tradition now!

Really looking forward to the few days leading up to the wedding! My last day at work is the Wednesday, so Thursday & Friday will be filled with beauty treatments, honeymoon packing & going to our venue with boxes of decorations, favours etc!

Thanks Stefy, it was a great weekend! I'm hoping we're not too full up from dinner at 'Ohana so we can enjoy the strawberries onboard our pontoon boat lol





This weekend was DF's Stag Party.. he went to the Epsom Derby horse races with his friends & played golf today.. I think they all had a great weekend although he has quite a sore head today hehe. I'm pleased to say he had no practical jokes played on him - wasn't chained to a lamp-post, they didn't shave his head or his eyebrows... phew!



My cousin (MoH) stayed with me for the two nights DF was away, it was really nice not to be alone & we had a lovely quite weekend! We watched several wedding movies - and also made the table plan...

and place cards..

Really pleased with these, we could have had the hotel do these for us, but it's nice to keep the stationery theme going & gave me some more little 'projects' to do!

I love the seating board! It sounds like we had very similar weekends - I did a ton of wedding projects yesterday, too! I feel so productive and crafty!

Thank you ... I bought lots of those butterfly decorations so they were added to the Save the Date cards, table names & now the table plan

hehe nope not too much mischief.. he has a nice group of friends (most of them I knew them from university as we met there!) so I wasn't too worried about them playing tricks on him
It's really nice being able to do these types of wedding 'crafts' I think.. it'll make our days so much more personal!

Thank Stefy... we watched Wedding Crashers & My Big Fat Greek Wedding.. and also some episodes of SATC that have weddings in them! I'm saving 'Father of the Bride' to watch the night before the wedding.. that's my all time favourite!



Today we heard from our photographer and have sent him a list of the groups we'd like for our formal photos after the ceremony
I've prepared the envelopes to pay the DJ & Wedding Singer on the day, and need to take the cake topper to our cake-maker this week, we're picking up the bridesmaids' dresses on Saturday ... and that's about all we have left to do!
I've tidied our spare room ready to begin getting things out to pack for honeymoon!
