It's so nice to see the lists finally dwindle away, isn't it?! My grandmother is dropping off the brooches for our cake to the baker this week and then we will pick up my dress on Saturday and besides packing up the stuff to take to the venue and mailing the remaining final payments out, I think we're pretty much set, too!

I'm so excited that you're starting to pack soon! I hope you will take pictures! I love seeing how everyone else packs - I get so many great ideas here. I actually managed to get all of my clothes packed last night. I wasn't even planning on it, but I got on a roll and figured why not?!

I feel like there should be much more for us to be doing this week, but everything does seem quite organised! .. hehe yes I will take pictures of the packing - I started to have a look through all the bags of new clothes last night, it is really exciting because there are things I'd forgotten about!

Hi Stefy.. meant to say before, yes I've seen Bride Wars - thought it was a fun movie.. I recognised The Plaza hotel in NYC last December because of that film!

I'm not sure I'm nervous.. just really, really excited - like I have butterflies all day long! I find that I'm waking up very early (when the sunrises lol) and my mind is full of wedding & honeymoon thoughts .. what is your countdown now for the wedding?

11 days now... eeeeek! I have 5 days left in my office - so much to do at work (due to being away for three weeks!) but the time is flying by

Wedding planning this weekend..

- haircut for DF
- final suit fitting for DF & pay remainder for suit hire
- collect bridesmaid dresses
- begin honeymoon packing
- ironing/laundry for honeymoon clothes

Apart from these things, DF and I have very few plans - looking forward to a quiet weekend with just the two of us before a very busy week begins!

I have put all the wedding decorations/favours etc in boxes and labelled them up - hoping to make it all as easy as possible for the hotel staff to do!

Today I had to go to Manchester for work, it was over 200 miles driving each way think that is the longest I've ever driven myself.. I found it ok but only because I had a lot of Disney podcasts & a WDW playlist to listen to on my ipod!

A few tips for your wedding day...

What's done is done, what didn't get done didn't get done. Don't let anything stress you out. I forgot to do my place cards and in the end, everyone sat where they wanted to and they were happy.

Take the time to make a mental note of what your fiance's face looks like as you walk down the aisle. I was so nervous walking down the aisle, I don't think I took the time to make that mental snapshot and I wish I did.

Breathe and take in everything around you. Brides tend to get caught up and sometimes you miss out on some of the best moments of that day.

Make sure one of your bridesmaids carries your lipstick and some blusher around for you and reapply it as necessary. I look so washed out in my wedding pictures because no one reminded me to throw on some lipstick and blush.

Eat, drink, dance and laugh. You're going to be a beautiful bride. Can't believe it's almost here!

I have made a note to give my lip gloss, mascara & eye liner to the bridesmaids.. and eye drops too, I wear contact lenses and it's going to be a very long day!



We've had a lovely day of suit fitting, picking up bridesmaid dresses, buying a few more items for honeymoon.. and I've spent a lot of the afternoon preparing things to pack... new clothes have so many tags & labels on them don't they?!
I have a ton of ironing to do as a lot of clothes have crumpled in the bags, but will post pictures later/tomorrow

Hey Emma! It sounds like you're having a fun weekend! The last one as a single lady! I am so jealous that you get to pick up your DF's suit this weekend. We have to wait until two days before the wedding before they're even available. I think that's cutting it too close, but apparently, that's how they all operate. It makes me nervous! I did get to go to my final fitting today, though. I was planning on bringing the dress home, but the seamstress offered to keep it and steam it since she is so close to the hotel where all the guests will be staying. We'll just swing by and pick it up on Friday. I can't wait to see the packing pics! Ahhh, I'm getting so excited! I know you are too!

Hi Courtney! ONE WEEK.. can you believe it!! .. we went to the dry-cleaners this morning (getting one of DF's suits cleaned ready for Palo, Remy and V&As ) - and when the shop assistant asked for my name.. I said my surname.. and Steve reminded me "not for much longer!"

We are also picking the suits up for the groom & other men on Thursday (must be an international standard for suit hire hehe)... DF just wanted another fitting today as he has been really good at the gym lately and thought his suit size might have changed.. and it had! He was so pleased.. it means we can both enjoy a lot of food in WDW and on the cruise now!

Tomorrow we can say "we're getting married this week!!!"

Hi everyone,

here are some pics of my packing this weekend!

I am so glad that I decided to save up for all new clothes, make up, toiletries etc for this trip.. we both have pretty much entirely new wardrobes to wear for the cruise and WDW!

Yesterday I took all the tags & labels off the clothes (which took much longer than I was expecting!) and today I ironed a lot of things as they had got crumpled in the bags/bottom of my wardrobe.

I don't actually wear many bracelets normally, but got a bit carried away with these sets of bangles, so pretty! - I think I have some to match each evening outfit. I also have one of the Cinderella coach necklaces from ebay, hoping to pick-a-pearl in the Japan Pavillion to go in it!

Toiletries..

Always sooo many of these, good to know that most of the bottles won't be coming back with us which equals more room for souvenirs!

When I took this photo, I had a random memory of the show 'Sister Sister' - when the Dad is looking in the twins' room at all the makeup, and he says "what do our girls actually look like?!"


I think everything is pretty much ready to pack.. we have 'Mr & Mrs' luggage tags to put on the cases, I'll probably start putting things into them on Thursday - I read a tip recently to put tumble-dryer sheets between clothes to keep them fresh in the suitcase, so I think I'll try that

Yup it's lovely to have everything new/nearly new! .. I haven't been quite as organised as you and planned my outfits hehe, but I'm thinking of wearing the strapless purple/pink dress to Remy and the tropical silk dress to Palo.




I have 2 days left of work now! Today went quite quickly, I don't have a lot of things left to do & need to hand over my work on Wednesday to my line manager.. cannot wait for 5pm Weds, leave work for the last time as a Miss!


I spoke to our cake-maker today, she has asked me to bring the cake topper to her so she can practice putting it on the top tier , so I'm doing that on Weds evening.

I've ordered our groceries to be delivered the day we get home from Florida - I hate to think that this trip will be over, but really don't like walking around a supermarket with jet lag!

We got some more gifts on our registry recently.. dinner at California Grill, and several rounds of Disney mini golf!!


We're currently trying not to watch the weather forecast for Saturday, because it's looking quite gloomy but (being England) keeps changing every few hours! it really doesn't matter if it does rain.. only our photos would have been outside & there's plenty of places inside the hotel that would make lovely backdrops.. I'm still hoping for a little weather pixie dust though

Yay for only 2 more days of work! I'm down to 3 and just hoping I can get everything accomplished by then! It seems like I still have so much left to do there. Friday seems so far away right now!
