I think I read somewhere that there is a barber shop at Magic Kingdom. My son got a cut I am not happy with and I don't have the time to get him to a barber before we leave. Has anyone used the barber at MK for an 8 year old boy? Just think I will want a buzz cut since they butchered his hair we are trying to grow out.

Its either that or a hat all week!
Thanks!

We have never tried the barber shop in MK but I heard the kids have great
fun they have alot of interaction, always wanted to try it. There are also
"hair salon" other places on property, I know for sure there is one in the
Beach Club. Good Luck.

Yep, sure is!

There's the Main Street Barber Shop in MK. It's right at the front of the park, to the left by the fire station. They do a lot of fun things in addition to cuts. You can get a Mickey head in the back of your son's hair, done w/ colored hair gel, you can get "pixie dust" or little Mickey head confetti. It's a fun place!

Just be aware, it's walkins only & it's first come first served, so sometimes there's a wait.

Many of the deluxe resorts also have hair salons in them.

annette: Do you remember how much they charge for a boys cut?? Thanks for the info. It sounds fun.

I had my DS7 hair cut last May. I dont recommend the hair gel if there is a chance of rain. It was put on top of his hair to spike the front and dripped all down his face and back. I ended up trying to wash it out in the ladies room. You should have seen the looks. :rotfl:

cool! i would love to see more haircut pics if anyone has more. :thumbsup2

I don't know if an 8 yr old boy would like it, but I'm taking my 34 yr old DH there on the 13th! :thumbsup2

We had our 4 and 8 year old son's hair cut in January at the Main Street Barber. We were at the barber shop when it opened at 9AM and were the 2nd family there. The boy's had their hair cut and then got it spiked up with colored hair gel and were "pixie dusted" with Mickey head, etc. confetti. They also got a Mickey head on the back of their hair with the gel. We paid $14 for each of them. The barbers really did a great job, and took their time. We had tons of people ask us all day long where we got it done and how great they looked. We even had one couple video tape them. It did take quite a few washings that night to get the gel and confetti out, but they want to do it again on our next trip in May.

rotfl: That is too funny.

I see you are a CBR Veteran! Please tell me I am going to have a great time here!

I just called to see if I can get a preffered location. She just laughed at me with a "good luck" attitude. So I have requested Aruba or Jamaica. Are these good choices? Please tell me what your favorite village is. Love some feedback or tips.

Thanks everyone for your help with Barber shop info!

My 16 yo "baby boy" has graciously consented to getting his first WDW haircut next month (I LOVE  saying that our trip is next month!). I plan on taking LOTS of pictures :teeth: ! I'm sure his friend who is joining us will REALLY enjoy this experience :rotfl2: . 46 days and counting :hourglass .
