Barbara really went out of her way to defend Woody Allen today. The View's Facebook page is full of angry comments. Anyone see the show?

Yeah, I saw the show.

Also saw Dylan's article and the articles of several of Woody Allen's defenders.

Also remember the original investigation.

I think Woody's conduct with Soon Yi was despicable and really wounded Mia. I haven't been able to watch a Woody Allen film the same way since all of that happened.

I think Dylan truly believes what she's saying about Woody. But I don't believe it really happened. All the investigations, all the neutral third parties, all the evidence, supports Woody.

I feel the exact opposite. The evidence, the damning Vanity Fair article, etc., actually support Dylan.

The old, "I know him and he would NEVER do anything like this" is always uttered, and usually dead wrong. Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors.

I saw it. Thought it was odd how defensive she was of him. The other girls were just trying to say, you can't really judge a person based on how they come off because you never know what goes on behind closed doors but Barbara was just NOT hearing that! Weird.

Exactly. Why would Dylan heap attention and press on herself like this? She seems like a really private person. Its hard to believe a small child or even a regular everyday person when going against a rich celeb. There is no way you can make this stuff up and I don't believe she is making it up.

I would haver pegged Philip Seymour Hoffman as a major junkie.

Agreed. I don't think Dylan would have come forward had it not been for that gushing display by Diane Keaton at the golden globes. It must have hit her hard, enough to finally address it after all these years.

Knowing how hard it is for victims to come forward I very much believe it happened. Woody moving forward with a much younger woman & adopting two more girls just shed some sunlight on his pattern, a common trait with pedos.

I can offer some insight hereabout my opinion.

My reaction is also based on my experiences with Justice Elliot Wilk, the judge to whom the custody matter was assigned.

I appeared before Justice Wilk many times in the 1980's. I found him to be an extremely thorough, fair and conscientious jurist. When he ruled against Mia on the issue of the molestation, my personal opinion was that the molestation did not occur. Had there been credible evidence to support Mia's claim, Wilk's decision would have said so.

I love star gossip ad much as the next person but why do people get so vested in it like the stars are their friends:confused3?

But its hard to rule when the victim (a small child) has to recount the whole thing multiple times. Maybe Mia didn't want to put her through that and they decided to rule in favor of the perpetrator. I was involved in someone else's investigation on another matter and the cops had to ask me the same question 10 times hoping I would give them a different answer. It is a grueling process for an adult never mind a child.

This is the DISboards and a crime has been committed. We're a bunch of crime fighters on here. All the legal threads on here are a testimony to that.

Just to point out -- the Connecticut authorities investigated the allegations at the time and determined that no crime had been committed.

Molestation rarely has objective evidence to be offered as proofs. In this case I'll take your word on the thorough, fair and conscientious jurist. He was also operating under a white hot media spotlight & no doubt contending with the best high powered litigators money can buy. Woody Allen is quite fortunate to be famous and wealthy. There's a good chance he would be behind bars today otherwise, I suspect rightfully so.

I did see the show. Barbara was very sensitive to the fact that she felt the rest were considering Woody Allen guilty of the molestation. I felt that they were just considering that it was a possibility, and were openly trying to understand and be compassionate why Dylan would be both triggered and offended with the accolades surrounding him.

And the fact is that a lack of evidence and even non-guilty outcomes are absolutely no indication of innocence in this area.
