Banning Roblox

DD went through this about 10 years ago (age 10 at the time) with Minecraft, just couldn't stay away from it and homework was being neglected and staying up too late, etc. I set a filter on the wifi-router to prevent access and now 10 years later she said she hated it being blocked way back then, but now looking back it's a good thing we did.

OP here - I didn't ban it completely and we have set new parameters and requirements for screen time. She has had an about face in the attitude department. I appreciate everyone letting me vent and the helpful suggestions!

BUT, we suspect she and my DH may have COVID-19 and that may be why she was so out there when I posted.

For some people, MMOGs affect the brain in much the same way as gambling, and can be just as addictive. Stinks, but there it is, and for those people, sometimes the only option is to go cold-turkey.

Agree. And while I know experts say there is no such thing as an addictive personality, I disagree based on my own past addiction issues.
