Banking transfer points

I have 250 March 2009 UY points that were transferred to my account. Called MS today and advised I wanted to bank them for 2010. She advised that she could not bank them, but would submit the request, and that it would be a 2-3 day process. Why can't they be banked immediately? I want to use those points to book April 2010 trip tomorrow, at the 11 month window. Can anyone confirm the 2-3 day banking process for tranferred points?

Assuming you are a BWV owner (from your tag) and that you transferred in BWV points, you should be fine to book at the 11 month window.. Typically you can bank them at time of booking the ressie.

As far as the waiting period, how long ago did you transfer these points in? Sounds like maybe they are not showing up in your account?

I haven't done anything like this myself, so perhaps someone else can chime in if they had this "waiting period" too.

Yes, I own BWV, and did the 250 pt BWV transfer a couple months ago. MS saw them in my account, but claimed she couldn't bank them herself, and it would take 2-3 days for the change to be reflected. Anyways, I called MS again 15 minutes ago, and that individual has now banked them to March 2010 UY. Hopefully when I call tomorrow to make my reservation, all will be in order.

A lot of the stuff with transferred points is manual. Quite honestly you are better to wait the 3 days for someone who knows what they are doing to take care of it than to have someone who does it 2x a year to try and end up making a mess of it.

I banked transferred points at the end of March. I was told that it is done manually, can't be done automatically in the system. I originally made the call on the 28th or 29th. Called back on the 31st to make sure all was OK and although the banking wasn't yet complete there was a note in the system that I had requested the banking. I had the MS name in case anything went wrong.

I think there are quite a few "manual" issues with transferred points as they do not show up online etc. It's like they need to track them separately because they can't have two "buckets" in the same account.

Just sharing.....called MS this morning and the 250 transfer points had been banked to March 2010 as requested. Used those points to book my rooms for April 2010. All is well.

That happened to me one time too - a friend transferred points to me that we combined for a 7 month reservation. They said they had to be banked manually which was a problem because we were right on the day. They were available the next day and we got the reservation.
