Banking Question....

We have points that need to be banked by the end of November. New points come each June. Say if we booked a resort 11 months out, but realize before the end of November we cannot use our reservation could we cancel and then bank those points?

Assume it's the proper point year (not borrowed) and the cancellation is more than 31 days out (at a DVC resort).
