That's 'cause you're smarter than me and bought and sold stuff along the way. I just kept buying! hahaYes. I missed you have 13 contracts! I only have 2!

So I'm only 1.5 yrs into DVC so I'm just trying to understand if I made a mistake somewhere or what. My contract is 160 points at AKV, Use year February.
Banked 2019 points to 2020: 147 points
2020 points: 160
2020 points borrowed to 2019: 15 (realized I needed to add a night to trip after I banked points)
So Total points at start of 2020 use year: 292.
In 2020, I used:
Stay 1 - 139 points
Stay 2 - 26 points
Total - 165
So that would mean I had 127 points leftover. However, I was only able to bank 101 points. Which leaves me 26 points that expire at the end of January (current plan is to do a 1-night staycation at Grand Californian, but I don't know if that will end up happening due to availability/reopening timeline, and I would much rather have those assigned to 2021 since I have 3 DVC trips planned then).
At no point did I borrow from 2021 points or cancel under 30 days. I did have a lot of book/cancel situations when I tried to piece together a longer trip for Stay 1, but the transactions still work out that I used the 139 points from 2020 and my point balance never went to 0.
Did I do something wrong or is this a DVC glitch? I can try calling member services, but I want to make sure there's not an obvious mistake I made first!
Yes, we are sort of in the same place. I was looking at My DVC/My Dashboard - the box in the left corner before clicking the Manage Your Points will show the summary of points available by UY, and will separate out available banked points.
Thanks for emailing MS about changes to better show which points are used by UY for booked and completed reservations. I’ve had to move several around this year, and have had to email MS to figure out where my banked points are to be sure I get them used before I lose them. Hopefully when things are more back to normal they’ll have resources to get that change scheduled.
What you wrote, is the way I thought it was represented tooI'm still not certain where you are looking? The box on my dashboard where you would click to Manage Your Points shows the points available in the Current UY (all lumped) and the points available for the next UY (all lumped) and it also breaks out how many points are in holding. It does not show banked or borrowed separately.
Three hours oh my.good adviceTrue story.... DW & I also used "new points" before "old points" once. We called.
DVC rep kindly altered the point usage, to use oldest points first - allowing us to BANK newest points.
So? If unsure? I would suggest CALL - have a speakerphone, and a good 3 hours.
Things are better now, I have called MS 4 times this week and never waited more than 5 minutes!Three hours oh my.good advice

If there are available banked points, it will show in that same box with the Prior UY - ie UY 2019.What you wrote, is the way I thought it was represented too![]()

It is always worth a call to DVC MS to see what they can do. But, if the unused points are banked points and the member doesn't have an upcoming stay to reallocate the points to, and the points weren't the result of a Covid affected reservation, I don't see DVC MS allowing banked points to be rebanked.Sorry if someone already said this, but I just wanted to say this has happened to me, and when I have called Member Services, they have always sorted it out for me - I would definitely call. Just didn't want you to lose points for no reason.Pain to be on hold, but worth it not to lose points!

You can also call member services and ask about each reservation and whether they are using all current use year points or all banked points, or a variation of. It's a pain, they get a little annoyed by it, but... there's no other way to know which points are being used in your reservations.
This made me laugh! I called DVC MS once and asked a CM to figure this out for me on a reservation and they got exasperated and said "well I'd have to go through all your reservations, and you have so many contracts (I have 13) and you have a bunch of modified and deleted reservations!" "this would take me a long time!" I just told them to forget it -- I figured they'd just give me wrong information anyway. You can also call member services and ask about each reservation and whether they are using all current use year points or all banked points, or a variation of. Now I just do what the PP said. I just go in and modify, I don't change anything and look at the points summary at the end. Much easier.

So, my concern is that I have 1 banked point in a VGC room (November), and wanted to try to move that one banked point to a reservation in mid September. I was told that I would have to cancel the VGC room to reallocate it to the mid September reservation. They can't just move it unless I cancel the VCG reservation, which I'm afraid to do bc I may lose it.![]()
