Baltimore BOT-Fest

Mike - Are you doing the National this year? If not, any other local race plans for March? It would be fun to try to come out and cheer when I am the size of a house!
Not sure what I'm going to do at this point.

I'm sure you are lovely and not "the size of a house".

Just make sure the epidural wears off enough (but not too much) before you start your post-birth marathon.

I am tempted to do National this year-- need someone to talk me into it.
How about this: one of my all time favorite race moments was during 3 years ago during The National Marathon when a lady was singing the theme from Star Wars from her balcony as the runners passed. Considering it was about 0730, pretty darn chilly, and the gusto of her effort I would guess she may have recently imbibed some fermented spirits. That was worth the entrance fee right there! Sadly, she wasn't back for the '09 running. :sad2:

Kathy is supposed to re-enter the world of the fully employed today (Tuesday) as a reading specialist at the local elementary school but... Her first day is a snow day! Her first day she gets paid to stay home. I'm thinking she should collect her check and retire. It won't get any better than that!

I've had a dinger of head/chest cold since we got back from WDW. I finally got out for a few miles on Sunday and wished I hadn't. I'm feeling pretty much back to normal so I'll have to come up with another excuse.

The theme from Star Wars has lyrics?? :confused3

I've done no training since I've been home from WDW. Unless shoveling snow and coughing and sneezing counts.

Good morning from balmy CT!

Another snow day here. Snow/ice/rain/ice. And of course last night water started dripping from the molding above our sliding door to the back porch. :confused3 Very nice!! I am SO done with this winter already.

I don't think I ever said a big CONGRATULATIONS :woohoo::yay: to you all for your great efforts down in Disney!!

Jen - I can't believe you lost your music...DOH! And congrats on not imploding the last few miles. I think you'll find that will be the case from here on in.

Judy - Glad you're still alive after your monumental effort!!! You're awesome! Well, maybe that's overstating it a bit, but....;)

Mike & Kathy - Another Goofy under your belt....and an extra day of vacation taboot! :thumbsup2

Howard - Checking in with his best time ever for Goofy! Nice.

Chester - Another Dopey for you!! How'd Chet make out?

Dave - Are you even on this thread anymore??? Congratulations on your 1/2 with very little training! I told you that stuff is way overrated!

Good morning Bots!

After a full week of snow days last week:scared1:the kids are finally back to school today. Thank goodness!!

Congratulations to Kathy on her new job! What an exciting new time in the Mathy household!

How is the Mindy household these days? Getting closer!!

Daa, Daaaa...Da, Da, Da, Daa, Daaaa...Da, Da, Da, Da.... Well, you get the idea. She was working it!

Sounds more like the theme from Rocky. :lmao:

I now have a wicked head cold and I am exhausted from shoeveling and dealing with so much effen' snow. And now....5" to 10"more on Friday. As an added bonus, Charlie has to take his son up to school in upstate New York so he won't be home.

OK, I'm pretty frigging miserable right now.

I'm done venting. The point is I've done no training. Grrrrr.

Amazing how many song you can sing with the basic Da da da da daaa da framework

Good Afternoon all!

I am tempted to do National this year-- need someone to talk me into it.

They have unlimited free beer at the end.

As a birthday present to each other, Matt and I purchased a treadmill over the weekend! As much as I HATE running on treadmills, I'm thinking that it may be the only way to be able to start running again once the babies are born. It is being delivered on Saturday!

It is being delivered on Saturday!

Wait! The baby or the TM???

I don't love the TM so much, but it's better than not training when it's below freezing and the ground is icey, or you have to train when it's dark out. :thumbsup2

Cindy, Yeah for the treadmill! I am sure you will love it while the babes are small and still sleep a lot.

Chester, that was a cool video Howard posted! Too bad we only got a glimpse of Chet.

Chester - Another Dopey for you!! How'd Chet make out?

Jodi
It's the same old story - we ran the half at a planned 11mpm pace started struggling after the halfway point of the full. We ran intervals until about 20 miles and then Chet was reduced to walking. At that point I was rested and ready to run the rest of the way in - but we stayed together and finished in about 6:15. Chet got a bad case of chafing during the Half and it didn't get any better during the Full. At least he's young and recovers fast. We will be doing Goofy number 5 in 2012. Maybe Chet will actually train this time.
