ROFR Thread Jan to March 2026 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

In timeline? Maybe…it depends on what the goals are for deciding to excercise ROfR…and that changes all the time.

So, if a certain resort is on their “list” to consider it will take longer but if the same resort gets moved off the “list” it won’t.
This is good intel, I didnt know that ones they consider more take longer so im guessing vgf, vgc are usually longer, I havent tracked those before

Not necessarily. It all depends on the goals at the time.

If DVD decides that they aren’t interested in a particular resort, then it’s going to be reviewed quickly and only held up if it is an outlier by DVDs standards.

But, let’s say the goal this month is to try and get more SSR points, then those might go through a little extra “review”.

All this to say, since we never know what DVds goals are, and they don’t want us to, which is why things changes are the time, there is no way to draw any real conclusions.

The only thing we know happens 99% of the time is that international contracts pass.

Active selling resorts used to pass almost 100% of the time….that is no longer the case.

We were the sellers on a contract that sold in December. While contracts were passing in 1 week that particular contract took around 32 days to pass before we got word that it was taken. Going into it we had a strong suspension that it wouldn't pass ROFR. At the same time we bought a GF that was at the current market price and was slightly higher priced than the highest rofr reported in the last few months.

Currently we are awaiting a rofr decision on a contract we are the buyers on and that one was sent 30 days ago. We knew before we even offered on it that it would be ROFRed due to purchase price and available points so this timeline was what we expected. We also had to try to buy it because of the resort and the asking price and would have regretted not making the attempt. We also are the sellers on a Poly that passed rofr in about 10-14 days that was at current market value as well as the purchaser of a GC that was at current market value but was an international seller that also passed in less than 2 weeks.

We were also the buyer on an Animal Kingdom that got sent either the same day or the day after they started ROFRing there again about 18 months ago. It was well below standard price ($80 and fully loaded) and was NOT an international seller. We knew that one would be a goner as well and again it took the full 30 days to hear back.

From our experience it would seem that they like to take the full time if they are going to ROFR either to get as many points as they can before asking price increases on resorts that seem to be actively being taken or them making sure that something better comes along that they want to spend their allowance on. Maybe they are trying to get a couple contracts within the same unit number to fulfill a direct sell. It's anybodies guess what the thought process is and this is all just speculation on my part.

I had a contract that was taken via ROFR and the time was right with the others. There was no difference.

But, we are seeing much quicker timelines these days, so maybe that plays out differently now.

I would agree with this. I think when we had the animal kingdom taken 18 months ago that the turnaround time was 3-4 weeks so there wasn't a very obvious difference then.
